93 mazda protege

My mazda protege idles fine but when you hit the gas at about 3000 rpm it starts to cut out. i had put a use air box it it because the old one was brocken. does anyone know how fix the problem Thanks Tim

Have a look at the rubber intake that goes from the airbox to the throttle body... I had a similar problem and the rubber was cracked on about 1 inch... Changed it and runs fine!
