Last week I was seriously thinking about parting out my car, and getting something a bit more luxurious. But after driving it tonite, there is NO WAY i'd ever part her out.
It may rattle, and clunk a little bit. I do have to check fittings, fix oil leaks, and constantly monitor air fuel ratios. But nights like tonight make it all worth it.
I was driving on my snow tires, which i unfortunately had to put on last week, and pulled up next to this fairly modded maxima. I took off normally and then hit boost and flew past it. Then she comes flying by ricer style, then we both hit the next red light. I look over at her, and her bf gives me this nasty look. WE both launch, and i pull an easy 3 cars on her no problem. All at partial throttle because i have to watch my boost & wideband too make sure i don't lean out cause my extra injector setup is being retarded. I still had her til we shut down about 60 mph.
At the next light i roll down my window and so does she, i ask her if she knows the owner of the shop that she has a sticker for and she says she does. I say nice car, and i think i pissed her bf off because he told me "You're lucky you're driving a stick, or else we'd be wasting you." I laughed and said riiiiiiight. He had no idea what i have under my hood (jerkit) I wasn't paying attention when that light turned green cause she took off, and i just sorta caught up and waved as i passed.
Must've been embarassing getting walked by a protege with snow tires & a stock exhaust....
