in trying to tap the rpm wire so i can datalog on my WB but i can' seem to find the 0-5v rpm wire.
i ran seraches and found the lavender/white pin 48 is our rpm wire. i read that wire is 5v but when i use my multimeter its reading 11v (w/ key at accessory on) and 6v (car turned on at idle)
i also checked the same color wire at the harness before the gauge cluster where many people said is 5v and its reading the same thing.
help please.

on my wb it uses the coil switch wire on the coil to get rpm (red or white depending on coil) i dunno if its the same but i know the dyno uses those wires too.

you sure you go the correct pin? There might be more than one wire with that color combo. You can see the pin numers if you remove the connector and look at the front of the plug. #48 works for me.

here are pictures of the where i check the voltage. First at the gauge cluster, the second at the ECU. am i checkin the wrong places?

nope, take off ur engine cover. youll have 2 coils on the connector on the pass side is a white wire and 2 other ones, and on the driver side coil is the red with the other 2, i just 'T' tapped into the red one, u can use the white too.

just wanted to ask since i have the xd-1/lc-1 also...is the rpm wire the green one that you can see coming out of the gauge? i might try and hook it up myself and i'll see if i run into any problems.

green wire from which gauge? are you talking about the LC-1? the green one from the LC-1 is the analog ground, but i'm not sure thats what you're asking.

the one that comes out from the xd-1 gauge. If you look closely it looks like its tucked in a little in the sleeve thats wrapped around the ground and power wires.

i never noticed that. i was gonna hook up the rpm to the one of the analog output from the lc1.

i cant find it in the manual, i guess b/c it doesnt tell inform you to do anything with the wire. The only thing i can think of is to just contact innovate tech support. i'm sure they would know.

after some more searching, i found the LC-1 is not capable of datalogging RPM by itself. The LC-1 has 2 ananlog output wires, but 0 input wires. In order to datalog RPM or anything else, it needs a LMA-3 (Aux-Box)...

Run a search for the Zietronix installation. The RPM wire is discussed in that thread and I know you'll find your answer.
