2002 Option packages for the Protege

Anyone know the option packages for the 02 models? I am looking into buying a LX today that has a lot of the factory options installed but the listing, I believe, does not state ALL that the car might have.

For example, the ad states it comes with; Compact Disc Changer but says nothing about it having side airbags. Another example is that says moonroof but doesnt say ABS brakes.

Im trying to get an idea of what Mazda packaged the factory options together with. I know the Mazda 3 has a ABS/SAB/SAC PACKAGE tha clusters certain items together or another package where it cluseters the moonroof and disk changer together.

I was hoping that someone might know what was offered as a package in 02 for the Protege.

So it looks like this:

- the 15 inch alloys and sunroof were a package (you couldnt get the sunroof w/o the alloys)
- disk changer was not packaged with anything
- perimeter alarm was not packaged with anything
- ABS and Side air bags were a package

...one remaing question, what is the LX Premium Package include? It does not state that on that site but that it was a 1,580 option.

Not that anyone seems to care but I found some great info from another forum's FAQ section on decoding VINs.

I was able to see I have the 2.0L w/o side airbags by deciphering my VIN :-(

Thought someone might benefit from this later down the road when this thread is buried and they use the search button :-)
