OK, My wifes 2005 6i has the steel wheels on it. We bought the car last Febuary and the wheels already have indications of rust on them. I wanted these things to at least last as long as the 16" tires did and then some Aftermarket 18's...I think Friday I will take it to the dealer for a warranty claim. (deadhorse

Go for it. With steelies you should remove the hubcaps every few months and thoroughly wash them off. Up here in New England they get covered in salt during the winter months. You probably don't have that problem down in florida unless you live close to the ocean.

You can always get some sandpaper and some Rustoleum paint and sand the rusted areas off then add a layer or two of paint to the steelies..
The rust shining through the hubcaps is what prompted me to get new wheels..

That reminds me... Has anyone painted their steelies a color other than black? I'd be curious to see them. White? Silver? Gunmetal? Body color? I kind of wonder what my steelies would like like in Laser Blue.
look for a old as honda they have silver steelies and black seelies with silver lip.

i have seen silver steel wheels!
i have seen silver steel wheels! Some of the older hondas. I seen some painted green that that was not a nice site to see. If that were something you wanted to do there are cans of paint that look similar to the aloys. I can dig thru "the parts closet" for the can and tell you what brand and color it is :)
