will these rims work...

Hi all. I'm not too up on rim specs, so...will these VW 14" rims work on my 2.0 LX GT...I have 15" alloys running 195/55/15 and the base model comes with 14" running 185/65/14. I tried them on and they seem to mount up as far as bolt hole positions go. It seems to have the clearance. The thing I don't know is the offset, what is it suppoed to be and are these the correct ones. I'm thinking of using them for winter tires. I'm thinnking the 65 size would compensate for the 1" less rim diameter...or at least not be a big enough difference to matter.

Only thing to worry about may be front calliper clearance. If it's a 4x100 it should fit though. But if its locat test fit it.

Offset is 38.
Should be fine, although might be alittle close. The inside will have no problem clearing the caliper but over very large bumps it might touch the fender.

I have 205/55/16 with 35mm offset and I do rub but only over hudge bumps, I say its no probem. You should be prefect with only 185/65/14.

thanks guys. I tried mounting the rim on the front and it looked like it had clearance around the caliper.

and the tire calculator shows i'll be .1% slow on teh speedo...considering most speedos are more than that I don't even have to guess at the actual speed.....
By the way what is the stock offset?
