I was wondering if anyone had replaced there coil packs with something that will work with MSD ignition set up?
I dont really see a point of doing that, only because Mazda ignition system works perfectly fine.

What about the stand alone microtech system

dunno the specs on it. Why do you want to get different ignition system anyways? Whats wrong with your stock one?

I put a kit on my car and it started running lean so I sent it to a guy to get it tuned and he burned my coil packes up with the msd. So now I got rid of the msd to get the microtech stand alone. If I had the turbo set at 8 psi it sould run fine on the orginal coil packs right or no? That is that it will not run lean.

orignal stock ignition system is good for boost of any kind. Kooldino is not the only one who's running 17+ psi on stock ignition system.

What would make it run lean then? The turbo was suposed to be set at like 6 psi but when I put a gage to it it was boosting at 12. This is on a stock engine though. Would that matter. I'm just trying to get my car ready for when I get back from Iraq and the way it is looking right now is that it won't be done until Feb and thats not good. So what could I do to keep it from running so lean?

What fuel management system did u use in that setup? What WG did you have, and what was the spring rating in it? Did you also have MBC or EBC?
