I have a black P5, I recently painted my front emblem black and it came out hot! I want to remove my Protege5 and mazda emblem, and paint the mazda "M" black to match the front. my question is, are there mounting holes under the rear badges? Any of them?.....if not I may just remove all the badges out back alltogether.....thanks in advance.

Yes, there is holes under all three of the badges on the back of the car.

Not too sure about the flying M in the back, but the Protege5 and Mazda emblems each have two prongs sticking into the hatch door, along with the double-sided tape, holding them on. If you remove them, you will have to fill the holes, and welding is obviously the best thing to do. I just had mine removed (with the exception of the M), and I love it!

Great, thanks for the info, I guess I will just paint them all, and mask off the "5"....that should look hot.

LOL In September when I had to take it back to the body shop to re-fix the rust ( (boom05) ) they didn't fix properly a year ago. I figured since everything was being done anyhow, and I wasn't paying for the labour/painting, might as well get it debadged right away. Only had to pay for them to weld up the holes... (thumb)
