My car has been having an engine rattle for a month or so now. its really annoying when driving on the highway. it rattles under accelleration and high RPMs and high speeds on the highway. the rattle sounds like its coming from the Intake manifold but i cant tell for sure. it would sound very similar to something hitting a fan blade when the fan is running. Ive read about peoples rattles before but nothing ever seems to be figured out about it. Anyone have any ideas as to what this engine rattle is????? thanks guys

Is it a steady, rhythmic rattle or does is sound like a clatter of something loose?
How's your idle? Any stalling or roughness? Do you hear anything at idle?

a loose nut rattling around in there maybe? i know one was in my intake mani, and the dealership took it out for me.

its a continuous rattle if im at cruising speed on the highway but when i accellerate even slightly the sound goes away. its a rattle like something is loose but i dont know.

Another person with the same sound. I get it at over 3k rpms when there isnt a load on the engine really, where youre not speeding up or slowing down. I took my intake mani off to look for MIA VICS VTCS screws missing, and they were all in place. Loose but in place. bit of loctite for peace of mind on them. I believe focuzfreek has had his engine replaced 2 times for the same sound, and another person just had the same problem turn into a bigger one and get rod knock I think. There are many threads about this sound, ive been to the dealership 3 times and each time is a 3 hour drive roundtrip, and a full day of work gone. I remember focuzfreek talkin about oil starvation and a crank bearing maybe? search it up.
