i've had eibachs probably the best ride comfort and good drop, but it was not low enough so I got goldline springs and never look back I thought it had better handling and realy good drop 2in to be exact a

I had some Eibach Sportlines, Very nice drop. if you have 18's with the wrong offset don't even think about getting Sportlines. With 2 12's in the trunk the rear would just barely tuck. Passengers in the rear w/ sportlines = NO NO. With added weight in the back the rear tucks ALOT... *rub* *rub**rub* I then put some MSP springs in (for only a week). don't get these. the rear sits ALOT lower than the front. looks kind of... no really goofy. Now I have ground control coilover sleeves. I should have gone with these in the first place. VERY stiff... you will feel every bump and groove in the road. you are the road. its awesome. unless there is a big ass bump... HANG TIMe! i would vote Ground Control but it is not an option..

I used to have Racing Beat springs, but now I'm using Eibach Pro Kit springs. A huge difference. Not too low, and not too high for my rx8 wheels. Another satisfied customer.

hey

I had a guy sell me a set of sportlines designed for hte protege sedan 99-04 not the MP5. He told me they would work. The springrates are good, i checked that out but i dont know about the drop. If it will be good front to back and such. Anyone have any info on this?

Def clearance issues with Sportlines.
The P5 needs more support for it's heavier ass end.

***CORRECTION***
per Ken at Protege Garage, the Sedan is 50 lbs heavier! Mostly cuz it sticks out further from the rear.

but if you look at the spring rate numbers between the the pro-kits for the sdan and the MP5 the MP5 actually has a softer rear spring. The fronts are the same. And if you look at the sportlines, they have a stiffer rear rate than the pro-kit for the MP5.

You make an excellent point, Matt.
I have the Sedan Pro-kit on by mistake and it was rubbing on turn even unloaded until I rolled the fenders some.
I would think a lower drop designed also for the sedan would have even bigger problems.
The spring rate may make a difference, but I would imagine it might sit lower in the back anyway.
I'm sure the Eibach engineers tried these things before deciding to offer a P5 prokit and not a P5-specific sportline option. You could call them though, I got through pretty quickly.

eibachs and tokico illuminas for me, love it but not if you like quiet comfort, i have mine on the hardest setting up front and second hardest in the back and it rattles everything on these shitty GA roads

hey,

I took the sportline kit down to my local performace store and matched them up with a pro-kit for the P5. The front springs are the same height but the rear springs free standing were 2 inchs lower. So SPortlines for the Sedan will not fit the P5 properly.

For my new setup I am going to be running Tokico Illuminas with Sprint springs 2.0 drop all around. Still waiting for an e-mail back on spring rate.
