what is 2002.5 and how do u know

ok i see people type that they have a 2002.5 p5 or a 2003.5 what does this mean and how do you know if its a .5 or not

2003.5 protege5s have a spare tire sub woofer and lost the roof racks. 2003 vs 2002 different wheels and 03 has a deeper and raised cupholders. now if your talking about MSP(which i doubt) different lip, colors, wings, speedo has a painted silver needle base thing, and shiftnobs? and darker rims.

Isn't there some production month or VIN # that breaks 2002 into 2002.5 or 2003 into 2003.5 or is it just particular feature differences? My production month is June 2003. Seeing as how new model years come out in Sept or so, does that make it 2003.5? It does have side markers/deep open cup holders but stock rims were not on it even though it was new from dealer with only 30 miles or so.........

U can put a roof rack on. Mine's an 03.5 and it has no roof rack, but there are these 4 removable caps on the black trim on the sides of the roof (where a roof rack would be) that cover where a roof rack would mount.

Does someone have pic differences between the 2002.5 and a 2003? I have no subwoofer, and a standard roofrack. However, I am having third gear popout issues, and if it turns out I have a 2002.5, I can use the service bulletin deal to get them to fix it (they can't recreate the problem (boom07) )

i think 2002.5 & 2003 are the same. also, 02.5 had the tweeters in by the rear view mirrors.

if you have an auto 02.5 has sportshift or whatever they call it. and they replaced the ugly automatic knob in the 02s with the MP3 shift knob (which i found out was in some? RX-7s as well.)

okay so explain this .. there is a protege 5 in town and i have no clue what year it is .. it has some really cool looking pin striping, laser blue, no roof racks or caps but it has like striping :O.. its an autostick or automanual whatever you wanna call it.. it has the straight 5 spoke rims.. now here is the kicker(s) Color MATCHED LEATHER??? AND 2 FRIGGIN SUNROOFS!.. now is this stock or some after market work done.. and the local shops around here couldnt make sunroofs that look that stock so im confizzled?!?

color matched leather seats might have been something the owner added (like a mod)?? that would be my guess.. :)

Well, unless it is an aftermarket paint job, Laser Blue was only available in '03 and '03.5; it was the only color that was added after the P5 debuted. I'd guess that it is a '03.5 w/ aftermarket leather and 2nd moonroof. I'd love to see a pic of it out of curiosity.

Next time i see it out ill snap a shot and talk to the owners but i think they are older people ... and if the leather and roofs are aftermarket.. the place did an excellent job.. and if they did get a place to do it.. i think i am going to be getting the number ..

I think the fall 2002 launch of the 2003 model makes it a 2002.5. Hence I would say 2002.5=2003. For 2003.5, there is a plastic/foam cover between the spare tire and the rug. I think the sub was still an option for 03.5
