so i started to have some brake squeak... but the thing is.. it only happens during my 1st few initial stops... like pulling out of my driveway.. down the back lane and the 1st red light stop... after that.. it no longer happens... it will however come back if i let my car sit for some time (hours)
i recently changed out my front pads (2 days ago... squeeking started a couple weeks before) so it has to be the rears... any idea why they would squeek only for the 1st few stops and not all the time?? thought if they were going bad they would squeak at everystop. i'm puzzled... thoughts 0_o?
any replies is greatly appreciated.

It's pretty minor when you think about what theses cars have done to some members..

rears are still the ones that came with car when i bought it used a couple of months back (dunno) not sure what they are... but if they are anything like the old front pads.. they still have some life in em.

"Rust and humidity squeak" is the nature of the beast; forget horror stories -- disc brakes are often much more vocal than drums. My Protege's the first vehicle I've had that brakes pretty much consistently regardless of humidity -- even if it squeaks when humid, when it comes to the disc brakes. Beats squeaking once the pads warm up (after the first couple stops, for the duration of the drive thereafter), or locking prematurely with light braking for the first couple stops. I've had cars/trucks with one or the other, and both are annoying. Personally, unless I change for racing later on, I'll stick to the stock pads because they're so clean and quiet.
Just my opinion.
