Here's what happened. Roommates MSP battery died and I replaced it last night with a brand new one. Go to arm the alarm, and the parking lights stay on. This happened with his car when he first got it, but the dealership fixed it. Now it's back again. I found this thread (http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74697&highlight=alarm+lights) when I ran a search, but for some reason I don't think the module is defective. Maybe it needs to be reset somehow? Anyone have any ideas? Taking it to the dealer will be a pain in the butt because my roommate is in London and won't be returning any time soon.

I'm getting the module replaced on my car today. Been a pain to deal with for a while now. Best advice I can give you (and it's pretty lame): use the door locks.

It could be the wiring harness to the module. Where it's located, the wires rub on some sharp piece of metal. When my MSP started doing that, I took it to the dealer. When the service tech brought out the wiring harness that had all but two wires cut, I was surprised. See if you can get it checked. Worse case stick with the door locks and e-mail your roomate to see if he/she can get in contact with the dealer.

Well, this problem kind of fixed itself. I locked the car manually, then engaged the alarm by pressing the arm button twice. No parking lights. Then I disarmed the alarm, opened and closed the doors, then armed the alarm again by hitting the alarm button twice. No parking lights. Hopefully it will stay that way from now on.
