I whipped out my snows late lastnight and hitup some icy parkinglots thismorning for some drifterwannabe fun.

Beyond that. I pressed a 1-1/8" steel rod into a piece of 2" aluminum at school. Hoping to make a weighted shiftknob with an interesting look. Hopefully I can fight my way back onto a lathe to turn some sorta interesting shape outta it.

Cameraphone sorry, but you get the idea. Hoping to get some heft to a shiftknob without the bad thermal retention of solid steel all around. And with a spiffy seamless bi-metal finish to boot.

Not much, mainly neglecting it. It's a friggin mess. I think the one caliper is stuck and dragging. The gas milage sucks, there are a bunch or rattles and creaks in the interior. I want another Crown Vic or 4 banger mustang. The mustang would get better milage...even turbocharged-running 20psi.

Today I put my Mazdaspeed floormats in and slapped my roofrack back on. My car is getting close to it's "wintermobile" state. Then I sat in the garage and stared at my car for a while and took my two stock rear exhaust mounts off and put the two Kartboy ones back on and this time my Racing Beat cat-back isn't rubbing. Then I found my replacement rear brake pads and replaced my rear wiper. It was either that or study for my finals :P

Put 21.5 mm rear sway bar with factory endlinks on lowered car with factory struts. I know, I know! If the tabs break off the struts I'll have excuse to get the tokicos I want & if I pop the endlinks I'll have excuse to get the AWRs. Gotta go about it the right way to not have wife whining about buying more parts than she thinks I need.........

Bought my P5 about 2 wks ago. Tinted the windows, changed the oil, installed Silverbeam bulbs yesterday and started building the speaker enclosure for my sub....

Was going to building it into the side panel but now I don't think I can get enough air space. Got the box about 1/2 done and only have about .25 cu ft... need .6 or so.. Going to do a redesign this weekend see if I can eek out at least .4-.5 ..

I currently have a JL Audio 10W6 that I am trying to use. I love that sub. I will probably still try it out, polyfill the hell out of the box.. I had it under the rear seat in my Tundra and that was a terrible box too.. basically the package compartment sealed off with expanding foam... but it sound ok and was totally stealth. Thanks for the suggestion though...

Also forgot I put belts on my car, they sucked.... now 5 days later and the alternator belt squeals when I start the car.. going to retension it this weekend...

Yeah I'm running 215/40/17 Kumho Ecsta MXs on a rim with a 45 offset and if I had 1mm less offset it would rub. It looks freakin awesome the way it is though.

I wish I could run 225s :(

will they rub at all 4 corners or is one end of the car narrower than the other? when i took it out yesterday there were a few different noises but it seemed like cold struts, after a little bit most of it went away. I know when i put them on and put my hand into the wheel well there wasn't much room between inside corner of tire and bottem of strut tower(same in rear) I was gonna take a closer look today(in the light). Flik racing where i got them from assured me that these were a correct fit

if you dont have probs thats great but really the max size you want would be a 215/40/17. your tire is much taller than the stock tire height by an inch or more. is your car lowered too? i'd go back to that place and tell them they screwed up. otherwise you might have to make some fender adjustments.

no it is not lowered, and i got them from a place in florida(i am in CT) and they shipped them. I really don't want to reship back to them because of hassles with them. I am going to try to roll the fenders in a little bit and then take for test drive and see what happens

Rolling the fenders should do the trick though, lets us know if it works. I'd roll the fenders to be able to have 225 width tires :D As it is right now I can't fit a finger between the fender and my rear tires because they are so close

I also found out earlier that the company I bought them from shipped the wrong size, being frustated I went back to there web and entered all info and the CORRECT size is 215/40/17 infuriated (argh) I rechecked the shipping label and THEY put 225/45/17 (chair) on it and that is what they sent. So now I will wait until Monday (jerkit) and see what they say. Luckily with snow forcasted and me being sick the car wont need to go anywhere(except the carport).
In a different area, did I read somewhere that you have a Magnaflow exhaust? If so how does it sound? I was thinking about buying a used(6 month)obx header and the person wants to sell the exhaust(megan cat back)with it. 300.00 shipped i believe, I like the price, but I don't know about the megan's fit or sound. I have this combo - OBX header and Magnaflow cat-back WITH the second cat and resonator - and love it. It's not quiet, but it's not hugely loud either, and most importantly (to me) it doesn't sound like an overgrown mosquito or stupid honda fart-can. (thumb) Fit is good, but because I've lost one mounting point (due to the header), I'm thinking of getting the kartboy exhaust hangars because it does vibrate and rattle a just a little.

Anywho, does stuff sitting in the corner count? Winter is here with a vengeance, and with no garage stuff has to wait for spring. :(
- mazdaspeedster top and bottom grills

- MSP RH's with Falken 512's

- on the way: dgm lip, luminics bulbs, Ion springs, Tokico illuminas, Racing Beat rear sway bar, Kartboy exhaust hangars, 5th Gear swap (possibly) and passenger motor mount from NSN, and some audio stuff (undecided at this time)

Swap in the MPV wiper stalk - takes like 15 minutes. Truthfully, the hardest part of this mod is prying open the steering column. After that it's literally unplug the stock one and plug the MPV one in and snap the steering column back together.

Junkyard - was half the price of the stealer. Though I didn't know about this site (or Ken) at the time. If I had, probably would have got it from Ken. :) Just keep in mind, it has to be from a 2001-2003 MPV, though a Tribute might work too...

as it turns out the sale went south, I did find some sound clips and think it will be either the magnaflow or a racing beat with the OBX. I am also gonna use Kartboy hangers. Reenacted Titanic today. I didn't notice I parked next to an iceberg the size of a small child. When I went to pull out and turn, said iceberg tried to make the sex with my side skirt. The side skirt felt a little loose, but then popped back into place. Hopefully it doesn't fall off...

Then I kicked the iceberg. Solid as a fucking rock.

Well, the thing raises up the foot to the pedal about a half inch and has a little grove the enables you to rest your foot. It says it makes it easier to heel-toe. I was always told you leave your foot on the floor when you heel-toe, hencing the heel part.

no, the heel is used for the clutch while the toe is for the brake. yes, sideways.

I miss my car SOO MUCH! Sad, I know, but that's how it is :(. And to answer the inevitable questions, no, it's not sold or wrecked, I'm visiting family for the hollidays, and the car's back home.

And I guess you can put me down for "Today I miss my car" for every day since the 15th, and up through the 8th of January lol

gas, not clutch :)

I haven't washed my car since... oh lord... it has been a while, this is bad. If we could get some weather over 32F that'd be great. But no, it has been like single digits a lot of the time. Black = hardest to keep clean. It is so dirty :( I'm anal too, when it was nice, I'd wash it weekly and use the california duster in between washes to keep the dust off.

ehh I dunno...white gets pretty dirty fast too. Black shows water spots and salt better, but White shows dirt the best.

Ouch I can't imagine not driving or seeing my Protege5 for that long. The longest I've ever gone was three days while she was getting repainted to eliminate rust. I don't know how you'll make it that long, but we're all here for you. :P

I came out on my lunch to see three guys in suits looking in the windows and walking around it. Not really suspicious looking, more admiring it. I stood back and watched for a minute until one of them leaned against it. Then I unlocked it and got a cd out. They asked all of the normal questions. Gas mileage, how fast, how roomy inside, blah blah. (thumb)

Broke a few things today. Dumped acid all over the engine compartment also. Talk about a fun day. Think the rad will need replacing, as will the upper rad hose.

Installed yellow Rockblocker fog light tints on the fogs.

It looks SWEET! Too bad I don't have a digital camera, but it goes with the yellow car perfectly. I'm thinking of getting some now for the headlights. (thumb)

Also have a shorty antenna coming in the mail, will install that as soon as it arrives.

why?

Long answer: I noticed my SRI filter was rubbing on the coolant overflow bottle, so I inserted a shim in the bracket that attaches to the ECU. I had to take the plug off the ECU to reach the bolts, and forgot to reattach. CEL came on after the first crank, prompting the reset.
Short answer: Me am dumbass!

ah, the old Sofa King excuse ;)

why is she there????
Cuz I'm @ home w/ the family, and it was the only place I had to leave her that was semi-safe. I also disconnected the battery and hid the terminal under a bunch of shit in the engine bay so if some1 tries to take 'er at night, it will, at the very least, slightly inconvinience them lol
