Did you order the dg stuff direct from them or from someone on here? I ordered the style 1 CF eyelids about two weeks ago but I assume they didn't have them in stock so they had to make them, hence the delay.

I haven't seen my Protege5 yet today, but last night I wired my second oxygen sensor up again finally. It has been disconnected since July but I finally ordered the MAM midpipe so that I could be free of the CEL. I'd be interested to see how other people routed the wiring for a sensor in the MAM midpipe. I think how I have it will be fine but it hard because the closest thing to the sensor to strap the wiring to is the exhaust hanger that's about a foot away.

Last night, my wife wanted to go to Joanne's (the craft store) and I was just kinda wandering around when I found sheets of 1" foam, on sale 50% off. I picked up 2 yards and last night, me and a friend cut out pieces and used them as baffles in the door panels. worked great. I put some rubber backed dampener under the rear hatch area, but the msp exhaust is still pretty loud. I'm going to start working on a new rear floor, and I'll use the left over foam back there.

Tonight ( last night) the car was wet sanded and then the first step of polishing the microcutting solution was applied and then buffed. Tomorrow the car will get polished then after that it will receive two more coats by hand.

The pictures are a little blurry as I am just learning how to use my new camera. You can still see the depth in the paint even in the blurry pictures.

Yesterday - Got some "props" from a guy that was around 80 years old in the Kroger parking lot. He really liked the boldness of the blue paint. Heh. I was happy of course.

Tomorrow - Getting the windows tinted. Appointment is set. Depending on budget, we'll see what kind of tinting I decide on finally when I get there. In Ohio, we can only go up to 50%.

Watched her disappear in the rearview, as I drove the Vue to work to fill 'er up...$38 later:mad:

As far as driving, drove her up to the Poconos Friday night and Sunday morning. Friday was uneventful, main roads which led to 45 minutes to drive 8 miles...traffic volume (pissed) So I asked around and someone told me of a back way which consisted of some nice twisties which took me right by the Shawnee Mountain Ski Resort.

So Sunday that is the way I took. Wasn't able to push the limits (as my wife and daughter were in the car) but my wife did grab the 'Oh $hit handle' a few times, which led to some dirty looks. :) Daughter was watching the portable dvd so she didn't mind.

who cares? *sits back and relaxes even though I just paid 3.29 a gallon at the pump a few days ago*

I think since the weather is getting cooperative I might start riding my bike the 7-10 miles to campus. It'll save miles on my car which is what I care about. As much as I like conserving fuel I don't directly pay for my gas (my mom deducts it out of the money she is putting toward my education) so it doesn't bother me much. The more I can do to slow my car from becoming a high mileage vehicle, the better.

I hear all the time from people with Suv's saying that the gas station turned off the pump at $100 bucks so they couldn't really get a full tank. I remeber in 99, my mom had a chevy suberban 2500. Back then it was 45-50 bucks to fill it up.

My parents are out of town so Im driving my moms neon to save gas and miles for the next week. But, the neon has shittier gas miledge than my car boosted. Wierd?

I would ride to the supermarket but then.. I'd have to make a couple trips to carry bags back to my apartment haha. I hear ya about short trips though, whenever I drive my car it is less than 10 minutes unless I'm just going for a nice scenic drive.

I'm not so much worried about putting miles on my car - that's what it's for. I put 97,000 miles on my 93 accord in 3 years of ownership. I put like 10,000 and some change on my P5 that I bought last July.

could have been a little warmer - we did have a bit of rain/snow the last little bit, though it did melt as it hit the ground - and sunnier, but it was still a nice day for a drive.... and did i mention the twisties? :D

the road up Mt. Norquay is very twisty with several switchbacks... perfect for trying out the new suspension and wheels. i have to say, even with the slightly wet pavement, the fk-451's stuck, and stuck good - no sliding, no screeching, and i was pushing morrigan pretty good at times

sts-but i'm thinking of moving into stx because i need more power and stx will let me run with exhaust mods(header midpipe and highflow cats). usually in stx i will be going against wrxs as my main competition. i know i can take them.

Order a set of street rings from street unit. easier to come by and pry will end up being cheaper. People want crazy prices for the dave b rings.

How much are they? Aren't the MAM rings like 30 dollars (around what the DaveB rings were new)? I've heard people complain about the glue that the street rings need, so make sure you look into how you are going to affix the rings. The MAM ones just press in like The DaveBs. My DaveB rings have been in for over two years with no problems at all :)

Got my "new" megan racing exhaust installed at Mr. Muffler (got it from Snowblazin- a trust worthy dude). Had it installed 'cause I couldn't get the rusty bolts off without cutting them, and didn't want to deal w/it. Great sound- a bit loud w/out the silencer, but really sweet with it in. Now to get the lowering springs installed....

1. The car is slow enough.
2. I don't want to deal with all the fitment issues of 17's.
3. I don't want to pay for 17" tires.
4. 16's don't weigh as much as 17's (Slipstreams are only 14lbs)

Cut out a portion of the grille assembly underneath the hood, to open up the airflow to the snorkel. Cutting some of that plastic out now allows cold air to come through the front of the grill, up into the snorkel now. There's a link to a thread on another forum somewhere around here.

Washed it today, and re-RainX'd it. Don't know why I bothered though. I'm really not that impressed with RainX.

Got a few compliments on the ride then drove her(spirited)home sunday. No pics and now car is dirty again, will have to wash and repeat

just got my comp lic info in the mail today...NHIS FTW!

cool, how much did that set you back? Can't go wrong with the injen. with replacing the filter, the couplers, the clamps, and all the paint on my eBay one I might as well have just bought the injen and have been done with it.

It's weird that the cheap eBay CAIs for the protege have basically disappeared though.

Today my DG Motorsports eyelids came in. I have them temporarily installed but so far I dunno if I like the way they make the car look. Without them, the headlights look really happy and friendly. With, they look a bit mean. My car is about zoom-zoom, not mean.

I guess I should pull the car out of the garage to get a better look at them, but I'm riding my bike to campus instead of driving today because it's so nice out :)

I haven't seen her since Thursday :( Hopefully late late Tuesday night I'll get her back. We are waiting on some stupid tiny little part for the transmission internals, a small funnel-like thing. It will be awesome though... LSD, clutch and flywheel!

Got the part and dropped it off today. Hopefully the guy can work on it tonight so I can get her back. Then I have to kill 200 miles or so breaking in the clutch before I get to have some fun :(

They are the CF ones unpainted. I figured they wouldn't be too noticeable with the black headlight housing, but we'll see. The lighting in my garage kinda screws with stuff so .. I'll get up some pics later.

I think Type1.. the ones that just continue the line of the hood down a little onto the headlight. The simple ones.

Yeah I bet it would be totally awesome.

.. so I see you picked up a kit too. 6000k?

Oh and.. yeah so I drove to campus for my lab and thought I was finally going to get a chance to see my eyelids. I saw the drivers side and it looked surprisingly good, but then.. well then I noticed that there was no longer an eyelid on the passenger side. I trusted that 3m tape too much. It was the good shit too :(

There goes 100 dollars (shipping incl.) that I didn't want to waste. hooray for me.

edit: nvm I see that it is 6000k in the pic.

Ahhh the Mugen MF-10 knock-offs. Rota calls them the Circuit 10, right? They look pretty slick on the car. Then again I've always been partial to MF-8's and MF-10's.(boobs)

They ar 17x7.5 with 48 offset 205/40/17 faulken ziex ze-12. I don't have a exact weight but after lugging the stock wheels to my basement, I could feel a significant difference in weight. The rotas are definetly lighter.

That looks so much better. I think we all hate that orange side marker. It would have been so simple for mazda to make it clear to match the fender mounted turn signal.

Oh well at least it gives us something to do.

flathead screwdriver to pop them out. 2003newlyack, looks good. Did mine with the same stuff.

Don't even need a screwdriver. If you grab hold of it, you will either be able to slide it toward the front of the car or the rear of the car and then kinda come out.

The front sidemarker (on the bumper, not the fender) you will need some sort of tool I would imagine. When I painted mine (silver so that they are barely noticeable.. but don't light up anymore) I had the bumper off so just did it that way.
