Gonna pull the lenses off tomorrow and flake off all the paint and clean the lens with some Blue Magic. Then I'm gonna do what I should have in the first place and paint the INSIDE of the lens. found out that the endlinks could be a noise maker, so i sprayed some teflon lube on there and then i also found out that u cant put the swaybar on the car without the wheels being on the ground (duh) so i did all that hit everything with the teflon stuff and now a little creaking when taking a slow corner but other then that completely quiet!!!!! took me a good 4 or 5 times to finally fix it

imjustagirl inherited some of my parts last week. I'm getting ready to sell her (o noz!) in the next few months, and as I've 'inherited' parts other members upgraded, I figured it's only fair that I keep that train rolling. My Injen and Exhuast are gone. It looks so stock. Hell, all you can see is the top of the header. I now have her mazdaspeed axleback (the p5 one, not the MSP one), which is funny because that's what my car had on it when I bought it. I'll probably try to trade that off locally to quiet it down, though with the header it's ground this awesome edge into the exhaust note.

Whoa crazy, first time anyone has said anything about my front side reflectors being blacked out, it was base "security" at the base. They are privatized rent-a-cops but I think he might go look too see if there is a law against it so he can quote it next time he see's me maybe. Wierd

Didn't notice the tinted tail lights though, 1000's of police including ones who have pulled me over for other things haven't said anything about the tinted tails. Sometimes I forget just how out of regulation my car is sometimes lol

I thanked god for the blessings I received over the wknd in the midst of hurricane IKE. The car survived at work tucked in the cement parking garage on the 6th floor along with the wife's rav4 & my crazy truck at my job on the nw side of town. By some miracle our home in Clear Lake survived without a scratch & without a stitch of tape on windows & none of them boarded up. Had all utilities throughout all of this & was such a thrill & miracle to come home to after a superdome type experience at the hotel next door to my job site & then jacking with 480 volt electric box that broke switching to generator to have computer room back online with AC & internet access the rest of the wknd. Sleeping on cushions & comforters on the floor of the computer room Sat nite was a blessing compared to the no elec no water conditions at the hotel. So nice to come home to just a bunch of yardwork & the ability to provide necessities to others less fortunate than us. Lots of cleanup citywide, lots of devastation nearby & especially at the coast 30 miles away & on the bay only 6 miles from us. Somewhere along the way I must have paid some dues to have been blessed in this manner.

Congrats man...my family used to live in Puerto Rico, and while we were there on the navy base, we went through two category 4 hurricanes, one category 5, and a few other small ones, but I know exactly what this kind of things looks like close up...luckily the houses on the base were made completely of concrete (floor/roof/walls), so all the houses were ok, but the minute we got off the base, everything else seemed leveled, there was not even debris...everything was just missing. I know how it feels man to be lucky, good luck with the cleanup and the people around you and their rebuilding...

I've decided that tomorrow (well technically today) I'll be going to pick and pull and picking up a shift knob or two and attempting to make it fit in place of my auto shift knob. I plan to relocate the O/D button and make it a push down instead of button operated shifter. Kind of like in most cars like TLs. I may even get a shift boot..... :D. A little ricey? I dunno. But I'm gonna like it and that's all that matters. I'll get photos up if the project succeeds. :D

fishdonotbounce

Definitely will do. I plan to get a couple shift knobs so if I mess one up, I have another to work on. I'm thinking that I could drill out a large enough hole, it'll fit over that white prong that is pushed down when you push the button. Then I'll make it fit hopefully and be able to gorilla glue the top of the white prong to the top of the inside of the knob. That way all I would have to do is just pull it off real hard to get it off but under normal conditions it would stay on real good. Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes and what exactly I did.

Argh, the P5 is going lean when I first hit positive pressure, BUT only for about 1 second and then it goes where it's supposed to. Is it possible that my fuel pump can't keep up with the initial burst in incoming air or is it more likely my tune is messed up? That's sweet, thanks. So not all coil over setups have this type of damper? Is this the moral of the story?

(rlaugh) whatever you say.

Pretty much the main advantage to inverted struts is a reduction in un-sprung weight. And pretty much the only person who'd even notice a difference between standard vs inverted is.... Michael Schumacher (ok not really... just saying they're totally un-necessary in a street car). That being said, iirc rob got a deal on these, so I can't hate too much.

Yes you can oversize, I forget the exact limits but with the proper installer the oversize is actually a pretty decent amount.

I run 205/45/16 on my stock wheels as well. Same tires on both sets of rims.

Its just that my black wheels are 8 pound track wheels from Japan (according to 5-Zigen)

Quick serious question for everyone. Does anyone know where I can find some WHITE lugs? I've searched and searched and even come up with lug nut sleeves (eek2) but no white lug nuts. If I got a set powdercoated, would it just get messed up as soon as I took them off?

just paint them and don't bang them around and they should last

Powdercoating is alot tougher than paint
It's more elastic than paint is. It wont flake and is more scratch resistant.

Installed a apexcone 6000k HID kit from matt at dabears2kperformance.com

traded detailing services for it.

unfortunately one of the bulbs was mispackaged and i got like a 5000K (white) bulb instead of a 6000k bulb. so that will get swapped out.

NCZ13

there really isnt a tire in that range that i would consider performance... in order to get into PT range youll be close to spending around 100$ per tire if not more.

personally im getting yokohama s.drives when i have the money.

How they working out for ya? Keep us posted of how they work with the BC coilovers later on since some have had problems with AWR endlinks, dunno if with coilovers or straight strut/spring combos.

I couldn't keep my rear AWR endlinks quiet no matter how I adjusted them. I did the install with the wheels on the ground, I made sure there was no binding during the install and everything was bolted up super tight. It would be quiet for about two days and then the clunking would come back. I switched back to the stock endlinks (had to order new ones) and everything is all quiet now and the performance is still there.

justanothermp5

i fixed mine the other day, i didnt do it with the wheels on the ground the first time so thats why mine was making so much noise, so i made sure both wheels were on the ground and i sprayed the part of the endlink that rotates in the little banjo bolt looking thing with some teflon lube, it wore off after a day but it doesnt clunk or anything

it just makes creaking sounds when i go around corners slow, gotta put some heavy duty grease on there
