More importantly, have you run into issues with the pickup bolts on the cam gears? The only thing keeping me from getting adjustables is that no one has developed a set that leaves the pickup bolts in the same orientation.

Nope i got srcam gears and the bolts move with the cam adjustment. the farthest i went with the exhaust cam was +-4 deg and the car still runs. but anything more than a 4deg overlap and i can't idle

whats kind of numbers are you pulling?
im pulling negative numbers in my wallet. honestly i never dyno'd my car ever. i just go by the feel of things... but it can definently be felt for example. if i advance both cams i can feel a difference up to 3deg after that its a little iffy and i totally lose top end. if i retard both cams i lose everything, it runs like sh!t.

Yeah that's what I meant. The pickup bolts move, but they really shouldn't (there was a thread not too, too long ago). More than likely, this is the reason you couldn't go beyond 4 deg?

was gonna sell, but just had flakes calling on it. In the meantime I sucked water in the motor and destroyed it. Somehow some way I am getting it fixed through my insurance. Its just about done. Needs a few more sensors replaced and dyno tuned. Then I'm back on the road again. It will still be for sale, just to keep the wifey happy! LOL!

My new/used MSP had close to 59k it hurts 59,003 miles it hurts! I ended up paying a little over 10k for it out the door and thats with them paying off my P5. After everything was said and done I'm only payign 20-30 bucks more a month for this MSP including insurence, gap insurence, 3yr 36k warrenty, ect... ect.... ect... I feel that I got one hell of a deal. What makes it even sweeter is that it already has all the mods that I want to do to it even right down the the brand of shock/struts and springs!

I had inquired about the mods and they said it would be no problem as long as its running off the stock ECU with no mods tot he tune. Thave have pictures ect ect. So yeah they know about them and it have it wirtten on paper that those current mods will not void my warrenty. Gap insurence is a good thing considering how much I drive. I will be will owe more then what the car is worth in a few years due to milage. Also it was an aditional 30 bucks for the life of the loan. I put damn near 60k on my p5 in 2.5 years so yeah gap insurence is good ideal and for 30 bucks for 3 years wth not?

He bought it from the dealer that way and bought the warranty.

He had pics and everything and the salesman lied and said, sure, it's all covered.

2 weeks later, his car has crappy idle and doesn't have any torque.

He takes it in and they see the exhaust and CAI and say they aren't gonna touch the car with the mods on it.

He doesn't have stock aprts and nowhere in any of his file does it say mods are covered.

The sad thing is that I don't know how to drive standard since I never got the chance to. I have heard it's easy to learn (easy to learn, not perfect mind you) but I really want a manual tranny cause I don't even have tiptronic. Not that it matters but I dunno. I want to start piecing together all the parts but at the same time, I don't have anywhere to put them. I guess I'll just have to wait.

The hardest part about stick is to learn how to take of from a stop other then that it just takes a little practive to shift smoothly and your good to go. You can tell when you need to shift gears based on feel and the sounds of the engine. However like i said the hardest part about stick is takign off from a stop.

You got really lucky with that 100 dollar deal but hopefully I can find one when I decide I have enough time for the swap. I would do it but timewise, it's not gonna happen any time soon. The center stuff isn't really hard at all. You just get under the steering wheel and disconnect the metal "wires" from the AC from the other part. It just pries off with a screwdriver. Then you take the glovebox out and do the same on the other side. Couple of screws and its out. oh and how do you like your headliner all black? I'm lovin it. It brings everything together a little better inside.

I will be keeping the stock ones just in case something happens (knock on wood) but they will definitely not be going back on.

I'd go with the black-and-white! The whites are awesome, but would probably be a bitch to keep clean.

Edit: is this a legit brand? If not, I'd be worried about safety in an accident.

I guess the general concern is that off-brand racing seats do not go through rigorous testing to make sure they are safe in accidents, etc (like the stock seats and brand name seats do).

Just something to think about!

also watch out for crappy made seats. I once bought the same kind of seats and had them delivered...when they got to me they were stitched horribly and coming apart. Lost about 120 in shipping...probably even more.

My exhaust had developed a really weird and horrible sounding rattle. So got a friend to rev up the engine so I could figure out where the sound was coming from. Turns out that I'd lost one of the nuts at the joint between the s-pipe and muffler and the bolt was rattling round in it's socket. Not sure how that happened in the first place but just threaded on a spare nut and was back in business.

Also just got 32 mpg, bout 70/30 highway/city with 11 auto-x runs on a 60+ second course. Not too shabby.

Unless you attach a parachute to the back, that way it'll deploy midair when you're getting thrown to slow you down. Then, instead of a car wreck, it'll look like you wrecked your fighter plane

Checked oil yesterday and she was only 1/4 qt low according to the dipstick (contrary to what my oil pressure gauge is telling me) and that's after about two weeks of driving. It's a nice change from the oil-burning, smoke-blowing car she was not too long back. I doubt something magically fixed itself, probably just the heat causing some seal to swell.

My weekend:

Decided to clean my EGR valve this weekend, printed off the tutorial, it claimed 30 min start to finish, maybe im not the mechanic i thought i was......

First off, Do not, i repeat DO NOT attempt to get this fucker out from under the hood. I almost broke my hand. I got one bolt out after removing my intake, battery and strut bar. the second bolt which is impossible to get a ratchet on due to being right on top of a motor mount....

I jacked my car up and got the second bolt off with a ratchet wrench.
the amount of carbon buildup was impressive, i actually let the brake clean soak inside the valve overnight, then scraped the gunk off the inside with whatever was handy.

Car is running smoother now, and hopefully ill see an improvement in MPG
