they also mount nicely to the radiator tabs. Or you could hide them in the fender wells also. Cuz they are illegal for street use so if u can hide the ballast you can always say there silver stars maybe. In Hawaii you'll get pulled over in a heart beat for having blue lights.

They are not blue enough to be mistaken for a police light, that is why cops don't like blue or red lights on your car. Plus cops don't really care about that around here anyways. I might explore the possability of putting the ballasts inside the fender though just in case.

That rust isn't helping, but then again neither are the extensions. The more extensions / attachments you use, the less torque you're actually putting to the bolt.

Oh! I think you're misunderstanding. I've only got my deep socket on the wrench. When I said extentions, I meant adding leverge to the actual wrench handle. I made a longer handle out of my extentions. Sorry

And, yeah, the front is supposed to be easy, but it's kicking my butt! Slipped the wrench twice and tore my arm up. Fun fun. After I get the front on I'll see how it feels, but, if the front's bad, I probably should order the sides as well. That or I might just fill em wiht epoxy

Man, I'm still in the low 70s. This 10 minute commute is killing me. On the plus side, I'll be putting about 1000 miles on her this week driving to the 24 Hours of Daytona and back :D

Drive on up to Carlisle in May! That will def. add some miles! :p

Dang, my cars only got 45,000 on the ticker. Wife's has 35,000. Both 03's

Gonna have my local mechanic swap out my front motor mount for the AWR under warranty!(rockon) Found my paperwork. I've got a full Service Contract on the car! Swapping the front mount with my already purchased AWR, and, having him check out the rest of the mounts to possibly replace with new OEM mounts. Also, gonna have him check out my idle. Told him about the possible EGR valve. May get a new one of those too! Also gonna have him check out my creeking and popping coming from the front suspension somewhere. Not sure if it's endlinks, or joints. Find out soon enough

Where on the transmission is the filter located? I changed my tranny fluid this summer and was not aware that there was a filter you needed to change with it. Do you have an automatic or manual transmission??

Is that the regular overdrive auto? I have sport auto & was under the impression there was just some sort of metallic screen that really didn't need jacking with. Fuck, now I'll have to research something else besides how much my magnaflow hi flow cat is gonna cost to be replaced since the ceramic brick in it is rattling around from 70k of too rich shit going thru it. Which piggyback afc has timing control(adv not retard) that won't fight with the oem ecu over settings? I want one bad. Oh, 65 for the cat 40 for the exh guru to put it where it needs to be.

I do agree. It is quite annoying waiting on 27 pics to load all of which are the same pic.

Side note, my car stalled again. Once again , it was after getting gas. Everytime I went to neutral, she'd stall for about 5 minutes. But, if I turned the A/C on full blast, she'd be ok.

Had some idle issues. Cleaned EGR and IAC....
Idle issues went away and now i got some p0300 codes...

Changed Ignition coils... Too soon to tell if this fixed the missfire problem...

Yeah the purge valve solenoid is what I broke, but I've got a brand new one in there now. Reset the ECU, and got new plugs. I'm going to try today just opening up the gas cap and letting it set for a few minutes and starting it. If it stalls after just having the gas cap open, something is fishy!

hmm it is fishy. I tried removing the gas cap before. Car doesnt stall like i expected. Only when i put fresh gas. My mechanic said it could be a dirty fuel tank. Cuz when u fill gas it stirs the dirt and when u start the car it sucks all the dirt into the pump. Well if u figure it out hit me up.

gotta special order them. Ur local rim shop should be able to get them. Racing Hart C5. Tire size 215/35/19

It will cost over $2000 to get. I don't think they make C5's anymore that's why they are special order items. I've seen them in some racing magazines though. Pretty expensive.

What kind do you recommend?

If you take the fogs off and bend the tab on the inside of the fog and aim the lights slightly higher, you'll have much greater results with the stock fogs. As to aftermarket fogs, I think PIAA makes the best foglight that fits our cars, but, you get what you pay for. They aren't cheap. There are lots of guys running around with the Catz fogs and havn't read too much about em. You could always do the foglight delete kit and just install a really small foglight. That's what I'm considering doing. Doing the delete and putting in a little tiny projector set of fogs. Time will tell what I actually wind up doing

its that stupid misfire that wont go away. well finally the CEL came on. after about 5 months of no cel, but a horrible misfire.

cylinder 3 misfire. i knew right away it was a wire.

my friend and i were standing around wondering if there was a autozone around here... we turn around and boom. autozone across the street.

drive over in the misfiremobile, and the douchebag counter guy was 0 help.

drive back home, and make it in time to kragen. luckily when i walked up the counter guy was like... what smells burnt, as he looked at the wire in my hand. i hold it up to him and hes like whoa. yeah. thats definetly burnt. they basically like autozone didnt have the part, but it was still refreshing to talk to someone who knew what the hell they were talking about.

I think I'm going to put one or two coats of clearcoat. Has anyone used the duplicolor wheel paint? Ya'll know if I need the clearcoat? Or is the wheel paint durable enough?

Yah I would do at least a couple layers of clearcoat on there. Duplicolor sells a special clear coat just for wheels, I would go for that. Remember to balance that wheel, just the added weight of the paint will through the balance of the wheel off.

Used my awesome mechanical skills to install a cx7 shorty antennae on my p5 today....(righty tighty lefty loosy).

Replaced brake pads on all four corners, (used OEM pads again because the stock ones lasted me 77k miles), and plan on doing the rear wiper swap tomorrow! :)

And..., as i pulled into the driveway this evening, car ticked over to 77,777 miles. Whee...

Ordered a new set of HIDs, old set acting all screwy. Does anyone know where i can get the headlight connectors from, by this i mean the white connector that plugs into the bulb. I would prefer to be able to go back to the plug and play method as opposed to the splicing method for my HIDs, but unfortunately i have misplaced my old connectors.

I would try and score a pair at a junk yard. Would be the cheapest and I am sure most proteges headlight plugs would work for many of the models such as MP3, MP5, MSP, and regular proteges.

Yeah I realize the stuff isn't very good, shortcuts never are. However, it was just a quick thing to do between major waxes to offer a bit more protection from the salt they pour on the roads here. Plus I found the bottle at work anyway, so it was free, and who can complain about free stuff? Not I.

I have spent hours vacuming out my car. I dont know what the carpet is made out of but grass sticks to it like glue. I have found to save some time on vacuming if you do a quick once over to get rid of the big stuff that vacume can remove you can go over the rest with a lent roller and it removes those hard to vacume stuff pretty easy. My drive way is dirt and walkway to my car is grass so my floorboards get pretty dirty.

Yeah, I went out and got some rubber floormats, that helps, but when it's wet you can't dry your feet off and the pedals get real slippery, not fun!

Wash and waxed...

Checked my PCV and the vacuum lines were on backwards... LOL not my fault... the shop that swapped my motor put it on wrong.... Hope this solves my problem of stalling out all the time...

Just to make sure i got it right though....

The outside vacuum line goes to the intake manifold. And the inside vacuum line (closet to the plug) goes to the canister. Is this correct?

mazdaspeed pedals!

OMG possibly hardest install yet on the p5, header, short shifter, full exhaust, cai, all pieces of cake compared to these. It was nearly impossible to push the rubber over the pedals, i tried using a hook from my pocket knife, an electricions screwdriver to no aval. I ended up cutting 3/4 corners on one, my buddy had great luck with the brake one(only taking 25min;)) and the accelator pedal was by far the easiest, just marking two holes and drilling away. Here are the pics.

The ps pulley can be pulled with a 2 jaw puller, from autozone loaner FTW - free. Just take pump off bracket, then res off bracket & loosen lines by strut tower then you can wrangle the pump to face up to pull pulley off without letting juice from system. But....if you have a broke pump then just take lines off pump, remove from car then use 2 jaw puller on pulley. To get mine back on all I used was 3 different length bolts & a fat washer with some anti seize inside the center of the pulley & pulled it back on with a 12mm socket/wratchet after putting pump back in it's bracket on the car to hold it while pulling pulley back on. Strap wrench works great to hold pulley from turning while tightening the bolt pulling it back on.

Hey at least you can Photoshop. I don't even have the program. Those rims would look pretty good on the Laser Blue. That's about the only thing I dislike about my 22a, black rims (which I've always liked) don't look as good in my opinion. I think there's not enough contrast to stand out, and too much to match for my tastes. Bah.

Dude, I'm in Winnipeg too lol. I already have my shifter and bushings, but it's been way too cold to install it. And now it doesn't look like it's getting any nicer. From what I've found on the forums here is that it's very similar, except people keep talking about putting washers underneath some part so that it doesn't rub, but they say it's fairly intuitive as to where those would go. Well, Monday I got rear ended and got a MSP exhaust put on. Yesterday went to get an estimate for the damage, which totals over $1100. Tomorrow hopefully the police report will be ready so I can fax it over to my insurance. What a way to start the week off.
