Installed my second Krankvent (F/I thing) and actually noticed a difference! Now only time will tell if the oil consumption changes. Unfortunately I had a random vacuum line split while driving down the road and she stalled out on me. Took lots of starting and running around to the engine bay before she stalled out again to find the problem. I eventually was playing the the TB cable to keep the car alive until I could find the problem hose. I started giving each hose a little tug to make sure they were all connected - sure enough, one pulled out - the hose had a slit like 1.5" long at the T! Fortunately I keep spare hoses in the car with me so I was back up and running and out of the cold in about 10 minutes total time. Was late to my meeting though...

Today I swapped out my AEM intake for an AEM intake. I had the mtx on my autotragic and picked up a used atx one from Rosshole. In the process I relocated my coolant resorvoir and finally swapped the stock DS lo-beam bulb out for the new Osram Silverstar.

The saggy butt is an optical illusion produced by the body lines of the car in most instances except the extreme. Measure from ground to top center of your wheel arches & I bet they are equal. Your lowering is proper in this case IMO. Nice bargain. Looks fine. Enjoy.

yea i know. i actually measured it... by the # of fingers tall :) thanks man. appreciate it. if i had the money i would have gotten tokicos and s techs...maybe next car when i am out of school

i think it's mostly b/c the front wheel well starts higher up on the body. ggrr That & the line that the bump guards on the doors follows is angled slightly. See how it is higher right at the top of the rear rim but on front is lower than the top of the front rim. That's part of what causes it to look lower in back to me. Mines the same way with 1.3 lower all the way around. Back tire looks further up in the fender well than in front. Front needs it tho due to steering.

The reason for not using MSP springs on stock struts is not simply aesthetic. The rear springs do not fit tightly between the spring perch and upper strut mount. If you put your car on a lift or jackstands make sure everything is seated well when you reload the suspension.
And don't go weightless over any rises. :)

+1 They're the same price... That's what I did - or tried to. Just make sure the shop you take it to knows there is a difference between the MSP and P5 front bumper covers. The place I took mine to didn't realize that and still ordered a P5 cover even though I told them to get a MSP one. Needless to say I had them fill in the holes for no extra cost (bang)

Pulled a P0140 yesterday afternoon so the 2nd O2 sensor got a scrub down. Didn't seem that dirty for a CEL but oh well, cleantit! I got a couple P0037 myself. The first time, I guess the guy cleared it, because when I went back to get it scanned again to see what sensor it was, the check engine light was off, and it was pending. Then yesterday it turned on again, so I decided to just cleaned both of them and the connectors. Check Engine light turned off, and didn't turn back on today. Hopefully it stays that way.

it's supposed to. It'll stay on until you crank it. In fact, if it was running and you stall out, it'll show the CEL as well. Doesn't mean you've got any problems. Woody54, I really think they're just old, stored codes that you can clear out, go for a drive, then pass the test if you're not showing a light currently.

Just cut to fit right up to edge then when you tighten them down it'll squish a little & there might be a micro small spot that will be unnoticeable from more than 3 inches away. Just move them around to get the most covered to begin with before tightening. I'm not talking about cutting the foam where it sticks out a stupid amount around the edges either. The hoopty sparkly clear lense ones fit the worse. If you get the cool refelective clear ones that look like they belong there then the fit will be better, they cover eversoslightly more.

you DO have a Y chromosome right? Come on man, you know the rules. We don't differentiate color and say things like 'it's not pink, it's fuchsia' (or however the f you spell it haha).

Ok, clearly you need a biology refresher... or maybe you don't. Guess it depends on how you swing. Were you to eat Y chromosomes, you'd be doing this: (blowjob)
Just figured you'd want to know. Girls = XX, dudes = XY :p

My right HID went out last week. So today I get a harebrain idea to take the ballast from the left side and hook it up to the right side. If It lit then my ballast was bad. If it didn't light then I knew my bulb was bad. Well it didn't light the right side. So I put it back on the left side and now I can't get the left side to light either.
So now I have no headlights at all. I've blown 3 fuses so far.

With the windows down in the parking garage (photoshoot) I heard a clattering noise echo off the concrete. I thought it was an exhaust leak bouncing off the concrete.
So today I changed the oil and rotated the tires. Discovered that my right rear strut is broken where the swaybar endlink attaches. Drove around with the windows down and the stereo off and discovered its my motor that is clattering exactly like my original motor was. 1/4th throttle under light load. This motor now has around 80 thousand miles just like when my first one went bad. My belts are squealing too. Oh and my tires are down to 3/32.

It's not really a waste of money. I can't drive anywhere without people looking at my car. Even if they don't see it, they hear it and then see it. Or, if I have a passenger in the car they enjoy the car as much as I do with the whole experience. And, while it's not the fastest car in the world - it's fun to drive. I was at a red light today and it turned green and there was a person in a Maxima coming up behind me. They switched lanes to pass me because I was going from 0-45 and they were already doing 20ish.
Just for fun I gassed it real hard and they never even got next to me. Sure, when I make a billion dollars in the future I can do the same thing with my 2028 Citogen Nuclear Powered Hybrid Thermal Geo Plasma TYPE-R and go 0-200 in 3 seconds, but it'll never be the same as the P5 that could.

i had to cover up the cams a little to worried about dust.
next i plan on removing the manifold, downpipe, I/C setup, so i can start on the new fmic, tial bov, piping, rewrap downpipe.

as long as i dont spend money that is need for everything else then i can buy, so i have to sell, trade or do side jobs to get the extra cash. i got the heater for free from my old job, it cost around $400 w/tax(they never made me pay for it). i installed it during the summer, so i could work on the car.

Took the front shocks off, trying to get the endlink bolt off the driver's side swaybar. Got the GCs off the Illuminas to put stock springs on. Halfway thru taking off the rear shocks, next will be removing the rear AWR swaybar and taking off those GCs to put stock springs and rear swaybar back on. If I've got all the parts, the Injen will come out and the stock intake will go back in. My car is going to feel so weird...

step 1: don't quote incredibly long posts on forums. It will invariably lead to keyed paint, and possibly large dents made by fellow forum members. The problem is that you can't really polish anything really well with dents. Buffers have a hard time getting in all the intricate nooks and crannies.
EDIT: Just realized this was in in the P5 section (thought photo/video for some reason). Took the liberty of tidying that up. Sorry, it's a pet peeve that I have the power to change! muhuhuhahahahahahahaha

thanks you guys
ive been really into detailing since for the past year, and i got the polisher i wanted for christmas ( i just showed my mom what i wanted)
heres my process:
ice car wash w/ wool mitt
dried with microfiber
polished w/ pinnacle XMT #3 via orange pad
glazed w/ pinnacle carnuba glaze via black pad
sealed with megs #21 via black pad
the best way to keep a really good shine is to pay attention what you touch and wash your car with. luckily the hand detailing (never again) and polishing i did kept the paint in pretty good condition. but a DA polisher makes all the difference. imagine when working polish in by hand, how many passes you make with your hand in a minute. w/ a polisher, the polish is worked in at about 3-5k rpm. try doing that by hand ha.

Exactly. I'm certainly no stranger to working on this car but when it comes to timing and electrical stuff I tend to stay away. I agree too much can go wrong not to mention there's just a whole lot of stuff you have to get through just to change one belt. With this, I am happy paying the dealership to do it. Besides, it's also my excuse to get various diagnostics and engine cleanings done...

Got her back from the dealership. New timing belt, water pump, brake fluid, etc. I also had them check my oil pressure because my gauge was reading lower and lower with time. Even though my pressure was just a little low (50-52 psi at 3000 RPM whereas the FSM says it should be between 57-70 psi at 3000 RPM) the tech said it should be fine. Now I have to figure out what it wrong with the gauge/pressure sending unit. I also ordered some gaskets from www.onlinemazdaparts.com (http://www.onlinemazdaparts.com) and spent about half as much as I would have at the dealership (I even checked!). Overall it's good to have her back and she seems to be running a little more smoothly. Needless to say I'm quite happy :) Now I just have to wait for my oil system components and IM and stuff come in and then I get to have more fun!
On a side note she puts a smile on my face when I know she can break the tires loose from a roll in 2nd gear. Because of the lack of LSD I can pretty much spin through 1st and 2nd and chirp 3rd. That should change shortly...

You shouldn't need to cut the tip itself, just all the pipe between the tip and the muffler. Did that on mine and the fit's great :)
Good choice btw ;)
