Is it the MSP racing beat rear sway bar or one they made specifically for the P5? There is a MSP racing beat rear sway bar in transit to my house for me to install over spring break and I thought I had to get different endlinks for it.

It's the MSP RB rear sway bar...Shorter than the stock bar.

I took out a mailbox on a red steel post this morning at around 8 am.

i slid on some gravel salt and dirt and then... whack!

I went up to the house, the guy said that it happens to his mailbox a few times a year, I gave him $100 for the mailbox and a quick pull out of his ditch, and I was on my way...

now I need a new bumper, shit

until then, I sanded the red paint off, sprayed some flat black on it, checked for other damage, just some plastic shields.

i should have my new bumper by the weekend.

yeah, it does..... but...

It already had a big scrape from a curb on the one corner, and in the subzero temps during a snowstorm a small median of snow in the middle of the highway cracked the other corner.

the moral of this story is that it needed replacing anyways.... this just forces me to do it right away.

Installed my Racing Beat catback with a buddy today. It went pretty well, just a couple of sore palms from losening stock bolts, took about an hour or so total.

Looks great though, and fits like a glove. The sound is much more deeper now, however, the exhaust isn't very loud. I'm hoping it gets a little louder when its broken in (I did buy it because I'm looking for quite, but sometimes its hard to hear it). It made my engine sound nice though, my intake it sucking more air down for sure which sounds nice as well.

Yep, I have a SRI also with an K&N filter. The exhaust is noticable untill it reaches 4k or so then my engine drowns it out.

I would certainly not call it loud at all, but it is very nice to have a deep sound.

I had the MS muffler and all that did was drone. The combo I have now is perfect. Might add a header for a bit more exhaust flow, not sure though if it'll be work it though since the rest of my exhaust system uses stock piping.

RB catback + header sounds great. It has a nice growl but it's quieter than just the MS axleback with the rest of the exhaust stock.

Hopefully when I get a midpipe it isn't too loud.

I'm doing an experiment this weekend...maybe some1's done it before and can tell me the results b4 I try it:

I'm getting the RB Cat back, but I'm curious how it would sound w/ the MS AxleBack section...any1 tried it? I"m pretty sure it would be louder than stock w/ just the MS, but I'll have the exhaust off so I figure I may as well play around for a bit

I was going to try this a couple weeks ago when I was cleaning out the closet in the garage and found my MS axleback. I tried getting the bolts off my Racing Beat but after being on there only a couple of months they were seized. I didn't bother trying too hard because I knew it was going to be really loud.

Definitely play around with it when you get the RB cat back.

Why not half and half on the lip? Top half silver bottom half black. People do it with their CF lip and it looks great.

ya, they make great stuff! kinda late for the mats though, or do you guys still have a bunch of snow around?Snow is pretty much over, but I prefer the rubber mats in general. SO much easier to clean than cloth. I have a detached garage and no path to it, so I pick up lots of mud/crud on my shoes when it's wet out. I intened to remedy the no-path situation sooner than later. :)

I've had WeatherTech mats in my Explorer for 10 years and they are still going strong. Expensive, but their mats are excellent!

Not only that, but consider the reason that front turn signal bulbs must light up amber. It is easily recognizeable but not distracting. When people have crazy bright white or fun colored turn signal bulbs it is distracting for other motorists.

Just go with the silverstar bulbs (available at your local auto parts store) or the much cheaper ones on eBay. Just make sure the ones on eBay still light up amber (or orange, or whatever you want to call it).

Oh, I almost forgot.

what have I done to my P5 today? I loaded it full of my computers (well the 5 I couldn't be without over spring break), my mountain bike, and various other things.

Sadly although my roof rack crossbars are here in Connecticut, the bolts that hold the crossbars down, all the plastic cover pieces, and the slides for the rear bar are all sitting in New York. ugh. I have to find a way to fit everything in the car hopefully without having the seats down because that unleashes the wrath of my exhaust. One of these days I'll sound deaden the trunk.

After loading up the car I got some petrol for the car (87 octane because I don't have the MP3 ecu until I get back to school) and drove the 360 miles or so back to school.
I don't know why that was all in the past tense. I haven't done anything yet :P

When I arrive back at my apartment I'll hopefully be installing my racing beat rear sway bar, MP3 ECU, and AWR front motor mount (again, this time with 70 durometer instead of 95).

i second this! i had them.. yeah they look cool but they arnt worth the trouble.. if you are wanting blue looking ones do what someone said. get those silverstars that are like 20 bux a pop. oh and you can pick them up at your local ricerzone(autozone) or oripmeoffs(oreily's).

but on a differnt note.. im building my new sub a box.. and then putting that plus the amp in.. hopefully its loud..

and i took some pics this morning here are a few of them..btw they kidna suck cuz of camera phone.. but some of them are pretty cool

Or these?:
http://www.5square.com/images/vise_grip_open.jpg

I've already tried with the latter, no luck I even heated up each end of one of the endlinks a lot (I burned my hand holding the box wrench trying to wrench at it because it conducted so much heat.. I have some pics I took last night that I can post (since this thread loves pics).

I wish I had a sawzall up here at school so I could just saw off what remains of the endlink on each side of the tab on the strut and then just drill through if needed. It sucks that my replacement endlinks from protegegarage aren't here yet, I ordered I think 9 days ago :( I probably should have just ordered the AWR endlinks too, I didn't realize that they were only like 64 bucks. Today I fixtured a broken L bracket that keeps my SRI bolted on. Cheap mounting bracket that came with it gave out a few days ago (what can you expect from a cheap ebay airtube). Was able to find a good size L bracket from home depo and modify it to fit perfectly with a dremel.

Also tried to install KB brushings, but had some trouble getting the stock rubber ones out. Finally the daylight was gone and it started to rain so I put everything back to how it was. Oh well, I will get it done next weekend while I install my short shifter at the same time.

That's a 2 inch drop? I seriously think the rear of my car is 1.5 inches lower than that, with 215/40/17 on 17x7 wheels with +45mm.

Front maybe an inch lower. o_O

hey,

thats why i'm thinking of changing springs... I have set of Eibach sportlines sitting in my entrance hall right now... yes... sportlines (boom07)

I really want the car lower than what it is... but, it handles and rides so well right now. I don't really want to change that

I really don't know why I'm so low on goldlines. Maybe every single one of my struts is currently blown. I'll find out this weekend when I install my Tokicos.

Had the taken the morning off from work, and notice my speakers had arrived :D. Installed Pioneers to replace my front blown out crappy stock ones. Went pretty smooth, got real quick at taking apart that door panel, since I had to do it an extra time because I forgot to reconnect the door lock switch.

They sound great!

short shifter hitting against it. The short shifter hangs down lower below the point of rotation so it hits the heat shield above the cat (or resonator, I don't remember) that is there. You can lower the heat shield (TWM sends out spacers with their shifter) but that didn't work for me, maybe it's a difference between the P5 and the sedan but there's a big canister on the exhaust right there. I ended up just cutting a rectangular hole in my heat shield where the shifter moves around.

It's just the lighting. the front end is sprayed with rock chips (well just on the bumper, none on the hood). I need to get some painting done.

Edit: oh and the pic is reminiscent of my first sig on these forums, when my car was relatively stock. I think I had just done the fog light mod at the time.

http://www.msprotege.com/members/zverg/sig.jpg

I took the place in the same location (end of my parent's driveway) at the same time of day (7ish AM). I wanna retake the picture to get a bit of the side in on it so that my car doesn't look completely stock to the untrained eye, but I won't be back there for three months (cryhard)
