drove up to wendys to get food and saw a yellow msp at the stop light. an older man in his 50s or so was driving at and checked out my ride. as the light turned green he gave me the thumbs up. that was a cool old man.

We should have a "Peoples reaction" thread. I made my weekly trip to the recycling center and as I turned around to walk back to my car, a 40+ year old lady was checking out my P5 from the front and then rear to see what it was. She asked me, "Is it new?". I said it's a 2003. "Wow.....That's a really cool little car". Thanks! I love it!

Need a new braket, and a new EGR bung put on, but it's not leaking for now. SOMEONE cross threaded it (and no, for once it wasn't me...) and a new spring bolt for the bottom. We're not even going to talk about that one... Anyway, no leaks for now. Gonna get to an exhaust shop asap. One of these days I'll have a free weekend...

It's kinda funny actually. It was just my birthday and I just sold some shit on Ebay so I have some $$ burning a hole in my pocket. I was looking at the AWR 21.5mm rear sway, maybe starting a stereo build...........but, the price looks too good to pass up on the RB if the pics look good..... I just put on the Mazdaspeed axleback like a month ago too. It's a bit loud for my taste. I drive 65 miles to and from work each day and I thought if I could find one a bit quieter I might try to jump on it....

Most of the time it doesn't bother me really. But, on the highway rolling to work it's a bit too loud for me. Everyday crusing around I don't have a problem with it. But, I spend a little over 2 hrs on the highway everyday.........so. I figured I would get it and put it on to get rid of the red bull can sized tip on the stock one and keep my eyes open for something else. (argh) well i poped a F'in tire today.i was on my way to buy some Poorboys natural look at a dealer about 50 miles away and i didnt even hear it.i just noticed a weird sound so i pulled over and there it was.stupid me,i had a jack but no lug wrench so the Poorboys dealer came and rescued me.turns out its just a nail but since i didnt notice it in time it ate up the sidewalls so its not fixable.and NO ONE has a tire in my size and its stock, what crap.so i had to order one off tirerack and now i have to pimp around on a donut for a couple days, arggggg!(argh)

oh wait crap I have a single kumho ecsta MX mounted on my 5th wheel still.. I wonder if it would be worth it to swap that onto one of my front wheels, I guarantee it grips better than the Potenza RE0750s.

but yeah anyway if I get the bug (I'm sure I will.. I caught the bug at zoom zoom live :P) I'm going to mount some autocrossing tires (haven't researched what tire yet) onto my stock wheels and use them for that.. and like put my snow tires on steelies or something. I don't feel like paying for mounting and balancing just to swap my spare wheels from snow to autox tires each year haha.

Designed originally for racing engines, today's compact production engines can also benefit from the used of GReddy's Radiator Bleed Tank. By mounting the tank high up in the engine compartment, you can be assured that of a fully filled system with room for air expansion, thus reducing chances of overheating due to air-lock. Hi-Pressure Radiator Cap included.

The air-removal tank is in parallel with the radiator. Once the thermostat opens, the hot coolant bypasses the radiator to pass through the tank, and is returned, hot, to the water pump inlet to re-enter the engine housing ports.
It's purpose is first to collect air/vapor in an upper, stagnant chamber. Then by thermal expansion of the fluid and gas, it purges the collected air into the vented overflow bottle by way of a 3rd hose that ends in the bottle below the coolant level. Air bubbles rise to the top and vent to the atmosphere. Upon cooling-contraction, coolant from the bottle is pulled back into the system.
The coolant that flows to the separation tank comes from the top of the thermostat housing, where a mini chamber is cast into the housing. The entry into this chamber can be seen after removing the fill cap as a 10mm hole. The only chamber exit is the hose to the separation tank. The purpose of the mini-chamber is to encourage any air that is passing below, from the open thermostat to the radiator, to rise up and be sent ( with coolant ) through the small bypass line to the separation tank

Yeah, I'm just using it as an overflow. Bottom and top (pressure cap) nips are capped with the middle nip using the oem vent hose. Imagine the stocker between my intake and battery box and you'll see why I changed it out :P

The Greddy breather tank is not designed as a replacement, but rather is developed to go inline with the stock coolant colector as a means to "breathe" more in high performance engines.

I installed it in my car as a replacement and it kept overflowing because it's volume capacity does not equal that of the stock container. It has now been removed, but here are some photos.

You know me, I'm like the world's biggest proponent of the Protege5, and I'm the one posting that stuff... if given the chance, I would trade my Protege5 for that in a heartbeat. Sadly I know my 74k mile Protege5 isn't worth that much, so I'll do everything in my power (I'm an impulse buyer so it'll be hard) to scrape together money to buy that car. I'm sure I won't be able to get it right when it comes out, maybe I'll have to buy it when it is 1 year old with 12k miles on it like I did with my Protege5.. but I don't care I will have that car if it comes here.

I work for Suzuki and they are complete shit. The only thing they can build properly are their bikes, ATV's and outboard motors.. when you have new production cars that you build and end up replacing cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds etc under warranty it kinda makes you wonder on the quality of the vehicle.. (shrug) you couldnt give me a Suzuki.. :)

*pics*

A lengthy read about the swift sport:
http://www.autoblog.com/2006/09/28/paris-motor-show-suzuki-swift-sport/

If it comes here, I will finally be willing to trade in my Protege5. :'( It's bittersweet.. I'm almost hoping they go back to their stance that it won't come here.

ooh.. will you part an of it out? :p
lol.. kidding because I know you could never sell your 5... :D

Be prepared for a ton of new fun stuff at Suzuki then.. because they are FINALLY bringing over cars that they actually make. None of the rebadged Daewoo stuff.

Do you have tons of problems with the new Grand Vitara or the SX4? I know the SX4 is actually a Suzuki, and I'm fairly certain the Grand Vitara is too.

good riddance reno (daewoo), aerio (which I believe was an actual suzuki model but yeah I really don't like those), and Verona (daewoo).

Seriously I would sell my Protege5 if I could get into a Swift Sport with little/no financing.

I didn't finance a dime of my Protege5 :) Maybe that's why I like it so much.. it was never a burden on me.. I never had to drive it around thinking "damnit you are costing me $xxx a month and you barely have 100 horsepower", etc.

The Grand Vitara, XL-7, and Vitara are "okay" They are Suzuki built but they still have their fair share of issues.. Drive Belts, timing chains and AC compressors seem to be what I sell the most off along with wheel bearings, and VC gaskets.. The rebadged Daewoo shit was exactly that, shit.. I made alot of money off of Verona engines.. :) The Aerio was Suzuki built.. not bad but aesthetically hateful.. The Forenza was ass also.. I call them Daewukis.. now, my all time favorite Suzuki was the SJ410..

Wow! Lotsa stuff happenin' today (ughdance)

Capacity is waaayyy less, but mine has never overflowed (dunno)

Ok no more ZFR6F-11 plugs for me.. back a step warmer to the ZFR5F-11s. Guess I really didn't need the colder plug. The car pulls noticeably better (and that's with my admittedly shitty butt-dyno), and is all around a lot smoother. No more low stumbling idle either.

Anyone know what these plugs are telling me? Doesn't the plug on the top look absolutely ragged? That's after 500 carefree miles with no misfiring or anything.. just totally normal driving. The bottom plug of course is a brand new one.. the 5 heat range though.

Noticing all the crap on the threads, I did my best to get down in there and clean out.. anyone have tips on cleaning in there? My method of a rag wrapped around a 12" extension on my ratchet and just pushing it down there sorta seemed to work but there must be a better way. Do they sell like a large pipe cleaner that does that sort of thing?
so yeah I was prepping for my car's first evAr autocross :). I changed my plugs, put air in ze tires, and removed my subwoofer for the first time ever.

Oh and I finally broke my spare tire out.. literally broke it.. I'm going to have to get some stuff down there welded now ugh. I don't have any pics of that but I'll try to get some when I get back from the autocross tomorrow.

Wish me luck, I'm #331NSM :D

ok so here are the results on the lower tie bar(gt-spec) Had my auto-x w/o the bar and honestly i really didn't notice much if any of a difference compared to having it on the car. the only thing i might be able to say is that the front feels a tiny bit more soft/ and that it leans a tiny bit more but that could just be the nature of how the course affected the car. its a shame i can't run with and w/o the bar. overall i don't really think the bar is worth the money because it really doesn't sem to affect the handling much at all.
