I am not quite sure what happened.
It was an uprght vacuum. I put the upright part on the passenger seat and was using the hose attatchment in the passenger seat. I think the way it was placed the rotating brush thing on the bottom caught something on the seat and tore it.

currently, we're paying the equivalent of $4.48US/gallon
$1.004CA * 3.785 = 3.80014CA/gallon * 1.18 (approx CA to US conversion) = $4.48USD/gallon for regular... don't complain
wanted to do an oil change on her tonight, but the shop got in the wrong oil, so it will have to wait until later this week or beginning of next.

actually no pics.. i thought about it though..
I jacked up the side of the car, crawled under with the grease and sprayed the crap outta the shifter underneath.. i'm sure the neighbors in my apartment complex thought i was crazy out there already so taking pics would have really worried them. Then I put the boot back in and put the console back together.. I hope this makes him a bit happier in neutral.. (ughdance)

Advance Auto Parts. I'll take some pics and post on here tonight. They have a blueish tint to them, and I put them on the rear turning signals also.....people keep getting mad at me cuz they say they are too bright....but a cop gave me a compliment this morning and told me maybe now people will know when I'm turning, lmfao (first)
Oh the size for the bulb for the turning signals in the front is 1157. And the tail lights say 7443, but the 7440 bulbs will fit with no problems. and for the sidemarkers, I used the 194 bulbs. (If you want real white, go with the APC, if you want BLUE then you have to search online like ebay, but the APC bulbs work fine and they have that little blue tint that I was looking for. Too much blue and cops could pull you over for it)

i started on the work yesterday and im pretty much on track to finish tonight...thats pretty much it...i actually did most of it yesterday but forgot to post about it...straight forward install for the most part, the only major issues were a tight fitting oil return line, some clearance issues between my actuator mount and the block/transmission, and a few small issues that i have or am in the process of working out...not really enough to warrant a full thread...but for the info, its a stripped down msp turbo setup (no heatshields at all) with corksport j-pipe and unintercooled til my fmic arrives next week...

Yeah I used a (what we call at work) step bit. You have to open the hole of the big plastic washer a good bit. You will probably have to dremel like cable43's how to shows. His picture is a good representation. As I said it was very easy.

this is probably going to sound a little silly, but today i did my first oil change on my P5, with the help of a friend. filter was on damn tight; took us about 10 minutes to get it off. after that though, smooth sailing. the hardest/most time consuming thing about doing it is jacking up the car. :)
also changed out my foglights. i don't mean the bulbs, i mean the entire fog light. picked up an extra stock set for dirt cheap, so in they went and my originals came out. one of the bulbs was burnt out in mine, but due to mazda loc-tighting one screw in each, i couldn't change out the bulbs (stripped the screw).

not silly, good for you for doing it. When you change filters make sure the old o-ring(gasket) comes off with the old filter. Once in a blue moon the gasket will stick to the engine and if you don't notice you will put the new filter on and will encounter an oil leak(due to improper seal).
this is probably going to sound a little silly, but today i did my first oil change on my P5, with the help of a friend. filter was on damn tight; took us about 10 minutes to get it off. after that though, smooth sailing. the hardest/most time consuming thing about doing it is jacking up the car. :)
also changed out my foglights. i don't mean the bulbs, i mean the entire fog light. picked up an extra stock set for dirt cheap, so in they went and my originals came out. one of the bulbs was burnt out in mine, but due to mazda loc-tighting one screw in each, i couldn't change out the bulbs (stripped the screw).

if you do your oil alot, buy a filter wrench that fits. :)

the ghetto way is to use a belt, like the one around your fat waist and use it as a strap wrench. then again 15 for some oil filter pliers from sears is a good investment too

I (in the days where I didn't live in an appartment complex that is a car nazi :() used to just use my hands. I tried using the filter wrenches and stuff but there was never enough room to move it much.

not nice to speak to a lady in such a way (enguard) . Some cars once you've gotten the filter off and the oil changes are routine a wrench isn't needed plus with limited space can't really use one. They do sell some that attach to the end of a ratchet and slide around the filter(less space needed)

Exactly, I hand tighten my filters every time. Just be sure to spread some of the oil around the new filter ring to get a tight seal.

I actually meant to give you credit but forgot. Yeah....your grill was my inspiration. It looks sooooo much better than the small mesh that comes w/ grill.
Thanks bro. Totally agree about the mesh. The end result is so much better with the OEM mesh. Props for a clean looking P5.

that's exactly what we did, just hand tighten the filter. i'm pretty tiny (5'1"), but even for me to try and get a wrench in there would be a tight fit.
thx for the support guys and no flaming; i know it's a minor thing, but i still feel pretty good having finally done it.

i'm planning to park morrigan for winter (getting a cheap winter beater, hopefully another mazda); what are some things i should know/do before doing so? i do plan to fire her up every week or two and take her for a short drive to keep things moving, prevent hoses from drying out, etc
also, i need a car cover for her. what do i need to look for in one? are there any particular brands out there that are better than another? i don't want to spend huge $, but i want to get something that will protect her properly (and hopefully fit the winter car during the summer)

Nothing too serious as of yet. I have my eye on the TSX and the 325xi. Checked out an evo, but I'm looking more on the "comfy" side. Like I said, I don't think anything is going to happen for awhile, and if all goes well, the p5 will be paid off soon and that will be my daily for one of the above cars. Then I get the best of both worlds! But she's def going back to stock...

Hi guys, haven't been on here for a little while, thought I'd say hi.
I haven't really modded my car for a while as we have a 4 week old son to look after!
We did however buy a second car that is a family sedan, so I've taken the baby seats (2) and all baby stuff out of the Astina and transfered it to the family car.
This now allows me to pull the car apart on weekends etc and not have to have it back together for the family. I'm planning on doing the headlight blackening mod this weekend. I'll post some pics up if I go ahead with it.

I use a leather cleaner and a clean cloth on mine all the time to remove grime buildup from my hands. Think about it. How often do you drive. Do you wash your hands everytime before it? Your hands have oils that soak into the leather. That's why you see very shinny smooth old leather steering wheels. They were never cleaned. I like the look of the natural leather.

So that's what it is.............Thanks man
^^^ automatics have the cool red text.
Thanks, I got bored and jealous after seeing them on the MSP and figured since I had the dash out for my DaveB rings I might as well do some paint work. I like it.

I Love what you've done with the guages/needles. btw

I think they're getting better...
Ok, so coming back from bowling (a bunch of GA ppl get together every thursday) and some bag of douche in a jeep cherokee is sitting at the light next to me. Anyway, the light turn yellow for the road running across ours, and he revs his engine and holds it there (aka wants to race). Anyway, there were cars up ahead, but I had a car on said douch by the end of 2nd :D
First win for the P5 (rlaugh)

pics of Morrigan's new sister... don't know her name just yet though :) (apologies for the pic, it was getting pretty dark when i got her home tonight)
as for what she's got:
1988 626 LX with 287k km
silver with very little rust around the rear wheel well on the driver's side, burgundy interior in near perfect condition, power windows/mirrors/locks, cruise, A/C with economy mode, auto (I know) with economy/power modes, and has a car starter already. It is a 5-lug, so my steelies *should* fit. This is great for two reasons: I don't have to buy winter wheels for the 626, and the stock wheels (14" all seasons) can go on my car while it sits over winter. Oh, and one of the neatest things I think I've seen in a car - the center air vents in the dash have a button you can push to make them oscillate.

For some reason I look at the 626 and want to call her, Autumn.

Be back in a sec *runs out to the garage to investigate*OK, guess I was imagining or hallucinating about what I thought I had seen. Couldn't replicate it. Next thought was that it may be something about the MSP gauges since I see silver needle in one pic but that was yours so yeah, back to the original question I suppose. Another mystery for theman to straighten out.

Straddled a 400lb freshly ran over deer carcass this morning. Completely smoked the front end. I can't believe it didn't bust again.......Some blood on the bumper and all kinds of meat hangning underneath. Will asess the situation more when the daylight comes, but it was pretty much BBQing all the way to work............Smells nasty..

Well, went out with a flashlight to see what we got. It's pretty nasty. There is shit all down the underside of the car. Clear back to the rear sway bar. There is a pocket by where the lower control arms mount in the front that is filled with meat...............
Time to hit the car wash.....

Indeed and I just completed it. It's not perfect, but way better than before. I did not feel like shelling out 350 clams for a repair that size. Besides, a CF hood looks to be coming my way soon..(hint hint).
