It is supposed to rain tomorrow though :( I really want to wash her today!
haha, awesome! a word of advice (even though I'm sure you know this) - whatever you use on your wheels/tires you NEVER use on any other part of the car. EVER.

I couldn't agree more. Did the suspension not quite 2 months ago - including the illuminas - and wish i had done it sooner.

Yeah, I shouldn't have it.

The police state of virginia frown's upon this sort of thing. I'm not sure why, the police use darker tint...

SUV's also have darker tint from the factory, I don't know why it's such a big deal to get it done from the after-market.

Totally agree. Maybe the same reason body parts are associated with cars. Headlights, tail pipe, cams, rims....

will probably give the EGR a cleaning this weekend. has been almost 15K since i fdid it last time......she probably can use some new plugs, too. little weekend tune-up i am feeling.......

Monterey for the win! All my old stuff--mitt, mf towels, and whatnot will now be wheel duty tools :D

No pics yet, she is still dirty. They are redoing our street tomorrow which means two bad things: dirty street! and I have to park it on a back street as I wouldn't be able to get out of the driveway tomorrow. Poor car, she doesn't know what is like to live out in the wild--she's used to the sheltered life of a garage. At least the car is so blacked out people won't see it at night. Hopefully they won't run into it though, hehe

Hey, don't jinx yourself (or her): One of the local guys had his car nearly totalled because some nincompoop driving a garbage truck with the side forks forgot to lift them up while going down the alley. About 10k damage, iirc - went down the entire side of the car. (omg)

MF bath towel... haha nice.
She survived the night without being hit by any large trucks. The street is nice and smooth now, but even better is that it is slightly higher--meaning getting into my driveway is no longer a terrible struggle. I can coast right in now! I used to have to do one wheel at a time, ugh. DGM lip = MAYBE 5" clearance. I'm thinking closer to 4".

painting the headlights black tomorrow! at least thats what I hope on doing..
Good luck! It is a PITA. Mainly due to getting the lights apart. The flippin' silicone used to hold the lens onto the light housing is insanely strong. Use a flat-head screwdriver to help pry it and keep going along the edges. Mine did not come apart easily. I found that if you stuck it back in the over for a couple minutes and then went back to prying, it helped loosen the glue. The project was a major pain like I said, but totally worth it. I don't have pictures yet, but it looks great. I also broke the little stupid bumper mount thingy on the headlight assembly putting the bumper back together. Bah.

Higher idle speed possibly, lack of power, maybe rougher idle, lousy fuel economy. Theres usually no permanent damage in my limited experience, if that is what you are asking. I assume the problem is fixed since you know what it is.

Seriously? I mean I did mine over two years ago but I didn't notice any difference in light output at the time if I recall correctly. If anything, maybe it just reduces glare. The light isn't designed to reflect off of that part of the housing, though of course nothing is perfect and some does. It may appear less bright when you are outside the car looking at the headlight but I'm thinking 99.9% of the light that illuminates the road is still there.

will do :) but in with polishing the headlights comes the removal of the vinyl tinted eyebrows and retinting with the VHT, followed by the 3m over the entire headlight. so basically, this is a full-day job as i'll have to remove the front bumper cover - which isn't hard but is just tedious and a PITA to do.

Oh yeah yesterday I made the switch from Mobil1 to Redline oil. Also, one of the hose clamps on my intake decided that it was time to die. Something about my CAI being bolted directly to the chassis (without that rubber piece because I lost that) and my rear motor mount in all likelihood being completely torn (I have the AWR front mount and she bucks like crazy still, it's awful) caused a bit too much stress on the clamp right after the elbow off the throttle body. Since it is past the MAF that the pipe came off, well you could imagine how much fun that was. I was downtown so it's not like I could have easily pulled over, and it stalled out a couple times because it was very difficult to keep the RPMs up while trying to stop at lights.

I kept pushing the tipe back on and trying to get the clamp to tighten and it would work for another 5-10 minutes. So yeah, eventually I broke down and went to one of the most evil and hated (I know I do) places in the world.. Wal-Mart. It was after midnight so I didn't have much choice.

Does anyone know of any decent quality hose clamps that aren't like 20 dollars a piece? I know I also need some sort of flex connector too so that the intake can bend a little.

About a 200 mile round trip and used almost half a tank of gas (didn't use cruise) and average speed was 70mph. The irony of it is that I don't go for groceries, but I do make trips to the local waste managment facility. I think I put an average of 8 miles a day on it at most. Thanks Mark....now onto the grounding kit.

8 miles a day!! I do 80 a day and that doesn't include weekends.

80 is my minimum during the week, 40 miles each way to work... It only gos up from there.

I know I also need some sort of flex connector too so that the intake can bend a little.

what size you need? i have a few extra nice ones fron the turbo install

Mark, what kind of leds did you use? Is there a number or something. I'm sick of the "condoms" going dim on my gauges. Especially now that I put in the boost gauge, it's bright red, but my volt gauge (which started off bright red) is now a pale yellow. Looks awesome!

haha, it's in already dear - went in weds after work. i just forgot the new gasket at home so they're putting that in today (didn't have one that fit). they had this really neat tool, kind of a pair of modified pliers, to get the bushings off the hangers... i'll have to get a pic of it tonight; worked like a charm. for $30, i couldn't say no.

as for the lube, which one were you referring to? that 'special' one you were telling me about? ;) lol

Both bolts that holds the ABS sensor for the rear brakes broke when I was removing them. That made taking out the rear shocks/spring interesting. Now I've got to grind off that bit of bolt that is sticking out of the bracket that the rear brake rotors mount to. Once I'm done with that I can finish mounting the rear shocks/springs and change out my brakes and rotors then I'll be done.
