i just installed my unichipand i have a couple of questions. first off, why is my map led always staying on? i thought that when u choose the A map the led is supposesd to turn off, mine is always staying on. second, when i switch to higher boost i'm still hitting hitting fuel cut. Does the unichip not take care of the fuel cut?

i have not hit fuel cut before at higher boost.
like the manual says, make sure your car is off before switching boost or map switches.

Must be a wiring problem on the switches in regards to the LED. The UC doesn't kill fuel cut though. I get it when running highboost in 60*- weather. Be thankful for it IMO, it's saving your motor.

wasn't bad. i think the hardest part was fitting everything back under the metal panel and getting the boost solenoid connector though the firewall bc i didn't have the "insertion" tool

convert it to a short ram and see if you're still cutting.

Needs to be reprogrammed. Have to take it to authorized tuner or you can send it back where u bpought it and get it programmed for free. LED light always on is the indication that it needs to be fixed.

Unichip has a list of authorized programmers, just give them a call and they can direct you to a shop locally to take the car to. Or if you know some import performance shops in your area then call and ask if they offer that service.

I would send your unit back to Unichip to have it checked out. I just bought a Unichip myself about a week ago, and had the same issue (LED always on) and horrible drivability. Called Unichip up, they had me send my unit back in for repair - seems they had gotten some bad modules from their supplier, causing the drivability issue (running very rich) and most likely the malfunctioning LED. Give them a call at 1-866-UNI-CHIP...tell them what you are experiencing and they will let you know what you need to do.

Here is a pdf file with the names and contact information of Unichip tuners. The list may be outdated, however, inasmuch as it was compiled in June of 2004.
By the way, I have yet to hit fuel cut in my approximately eleven months of Unichip ownership.
Good luck.

I haven't gotten it back yet. I called Unichip on Friday, they told me they had just received the unit that morning. Tech said they would ship it out Friday afternoon or Monday morning at the latest...so I should have it back sometime this week. I have no complaints about their customer service thus far....
