Well, I just bought my speed.... yes... FINALLY! And... well, lets just say it is bone stock! Looking for some input on what to do first... I have heard lots of different things.. First I think I want to get the intake taken care of then a manual boost controller? Ive also heard that it is best to get the boost controller after other stuff? Just looking for some opinions! Thanks! -Ashlee (help)

Congrats, you probably want to think about an engine management system before your boost controller so you aren't tempted to turn the boost up and risk your engine.

IMO i would do dsm's afc first, then intake, fmic or smic, exhaust then a boost controller.

I would leave the intake out for last because there is no need unless you are going for big numbers and then you get it, still last. get some sort of afc/engine management then hardpipes or can get fmic/smic with pipes then boost controller

Hey! Whats up Ash, well, like I said earlier, it would be smart to start out with some engine management, like the Unichip, or DSM AFC like I have, followed by the exhaust. I think if you started with those, that would yield you good reliable horsepower, and drivability. After that, maybe turn up the boost and have fun with it!! (thumb)

see you later,

JESUS CHRIST!!! The post doesn't say, I have $100,000 what should I do first!

EMS is a good idea, and I think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it is not required and most of us don't have it. If you are willing to spend the money go for it, but you may want to get other things done to it first, otherwise you are going to be spending a lot of time getting it reprogrammed to match your mods.

But I also noticed that you wanted to jump on that boost controller which is not a good idea. In this order: Intake, exhaust, hard pipes and/or better intercooler, BOOST GUAGE!, then maybe an MBC. Cullen at Street Unit swore by these motor mounts. I may have to start a thread to see if they are worth it, but in his opinion that should be the first thing done.

But anyways, hope this helps!

Im saying she has to spend $100,000 dollars. You can get a DSM AFC in a group buy for like $278 dollars. And yes, please get a boost gauge.

Welcome aboard and check out the MN section.

I would start with the DSM AFC or Exhaust. If you can't afford to start off with the full exhaust, I would suggest getting a mid pipe to delete both cats, or just 1 if you want to be earth friendly.

downpipe (midpipe) what ever you want to call it first

more power equals more heat and backpressure. 2.5" or larger exhaust..as much of it as you can afford. Leave the stock muffler, its cooler ;)
