Ok so heres a little history....
I buy my msp, bone stock......
15.286 @ 90.364 not bad for stock on all seasons on a 95-ish degree day... lets move on
few weeks later, same car, h20 i/c sprayer, awr poly front mount (automatic) denso IK20 iridium plugs
15.052 @ 91.230 thats getting better same tires and same weather conditions
month or two later, injen cai, turbo xs type-h 34 bpv, h2o sprayer, awr front motor mount about 58 degrees out, still a sticky warm track (track temp of about 105) and yokohama AVS ES100's
15.072 @ 91.270 ............ no change? even with the added intake and cooler denser air and better tires? i've decided my car is just afraid to hit 14's

turn up the boost.

stock exhaust, stock ecu, + more boost = broke shit, no thanx, plus im out to run 14.8 or faster on stock boost because a guy here that has a grocery list of mods to his black msp can only hit 14.8's.

trunk is empty, car weighed in at 2802 with half a tank

Im guessing your a/fs are off now since you installed the intake and thats why its not running any faster! Im sure if you got a afc at stock boost you would hit 14s!

its stock? lol, no weight reduction whatsoever. my mp3 was around 2700 lbs, with the turbo setup, bigger brakes, and abs setup i can understand another 1000 lbs or so.

Let me get this straight. I run better 60's NOW with an open diff and substantially less power. I think it's you man.

It's alot easier to get a good 60' with no power.
You haven't added any power adding modifications. Why do you think you would hit 14's without them?

I got a 14.93 on a MSP with just the Injen CAI (dunno)
Best 100% stock run was 15.02.

(rockon)
If you're getting very low 15's, adding a midpipe will easily drop at least a tenth, maybe even 2/10ths.

The best I have run with mine is a 15.2 here in Vegas at around 2000ft. above sea level and it was around 90 degrees out that night, track was super sticky and I didn't know how to drive the car. Here is what I ran, best of the night
R/T .305 (horrible reaction time)
60' 2.410
330' 6.484
1/8 9.861
MPH 72.75
1000 12.782
1/4 15.290
MPH 89.67
Scary thing is I have a 3" turbo back and 3" midpipe with no cats, stock cat back. My biggest problem is that I don't know how to launch the car yet, horrible wheel spin (with hop) = sucks. I just can't leave the line that good. I wish I had more then 3 runs because I was trying to get down the launch of the car by slipping out the clutch and all but didn't have enough runs. I just have to learn how to launch the car is my problem...the new downpipe and midpipe work great when the car is cool, once heat soaks my stock SMIC the increase in power isn't nearly what it is when it's cooler. Anyway, if I could drive and my intercooler stayed cool then I'm sure it would hit the high 14's. I'm not sure how the elevation plays into all of this either but the track here is @ 2000ft so I'm sure that may have something to do with it.
Anyway....good luck with the 14's. Oh yeah, I'm all stock expect the DP and midpipe.
Oh yeah, best run before the DP was a 15.6

its not me
Stats for my MP3
114 whp, open diff, front and rear awr automatic mounts, 18" 17 lbs wheels, 215/35/18 kumho ecsta mx's : 2.1 60's all day long.
Stats for my MSP
~150-155whp, LSD (mazda revised), front awr poly automatic mount, stock wheels, 225/45/17 Yokohama AVS ES 100's 2.2's
somehow i seriously doubt this is driver error

it just seems to me that if im running consistent 15.0XX that somehow as the car is setup pull a 14.9XX out of it, thats 15.0XX is just teasing me, its like dangling a donut in front of a fat guy.

I'm sure I could work on those 60' times though......got to get my wheel spin under control and limit my hop...

well yeah, but im saying alot fo your actual e/t problem is probably elevation,. a long time ago i used to know the sae correction values for elevation but i cant seem to find it on this comp now.
