Yes.

After 4 years now, The coating on the rims is starting to peel off everywhere. And i do use winter tires w/ steelies. Whats fun is that i'm no longer under warranty so can't really argue with Mazda ( thank god tough, because Mazda must be the biggest idiots ever. So damn hard to get anything fixed. Took 2 years for them to even acknowledge the Klunk, and they never managed to fix it... since now i got an even worse sound comming out of those damn bushings )

Anyway i will probably get them all sandblasted, fixed ( one of them is a bit damaged ) and repainted next summer.

I don't know... i'll probably stick with something similar. I like how the original color works with the blue MP3 color. But then again i might change my mind.

When I got my MP3 this summer the rims had some flaking and corrosion, going to repaint them bronze this winter, or silver....or white, or black....i really don't know what color.

Yeah, my rims are flaking, and it's not covered under my warrenty (bought it used) because it's "cosmetic". I want to P.C. mine.

Mine never flaked. But, I noticed certain chips that would easily lead to peeling over time and it was a huge concern for me. I never had that car that long for it to happen. The Finish is very thin. I think the MP3 wheels are sexy as hell, but they didn't use a good quality finish on them.

My Mazdaspeed wheels just survived their 3rd summer, and I put winters on Sunday. not one scratch, curb rash...notta. I'm amazed, even more so that the woman drives the car too. The finish on the 2003.5's is much more durable. I found even washing the mp3 wheels wrong and you could easily scratch them.

But, my tires are about shot on my speed. And I know whoever changes them next spring will probably fuck the rims up as always.

mine started to flake last year. probably due to the winters here in NY. good thing I only use them in the winter. was supposed to paint them bronze but now it's to late cause it's too cold. so I'll wait till next year.

Mine flaked. Got them re-powder coated by wheel wizard. The Racing Hart logo is no longer black, but BFD IMO.

I have them on a shelf and am running ES 16's anyway. The stock 17's are boat-anchor heavy.
