SCC butchered my letter [Archive]

have you guys ever noticed that when you write letters to magazines they change them completely. that letter in SCC december 05 about the BPV-BOV setup is mine... the problem is that barely resembles the letter i wrote in any way. and they actually wrote that i said "MSP protege", my letter was in way more detail and actually sounded like i knew what i was talking about when i wrote it.

Personally, I Work in the publishing wing of a company, so this is how we do it and most others. ANY content that has the potential for being printed and sent to the masses WILL be edited for content, clarity and voiced for intended audience. I'm not surprised they edited your letter. Do you have a copy of the letter you wrote? perhaps you can post that up. Then when I get my issue of SCC, i want to see what they did. They probably have a certain "voice" that they want to convey in their magazine.

i'll dig through my outbox but i'm pretty sure i cleared it... i was just really upset that they called it an MSP protege in MY NAME! i know that the P in MSP already stands for protege

probably wouldn't have had that problem if you actually SPELLED OUT Mazdaspeed Protege in its full name

sometimes you have to realize not *everybody* knows what MSP stands for :p

i did, a couple times... the letter was about a page long... but they shortened it, the first time i called it a "mazdaspeed protege (or MSP for short)"

written on like MS word it would have probably come to about 1/4 page, and they narrowed it down to just that... i went on to explain all the benefets of the recirq+BOV and talked a lot about moving the MAF to the cold pipe and everything.

AND I DIDN"S SAY MSP PROTEGE! lol

yeah i was also the one a WHILE ago to write to the questions/answers of the month when they were asking what their next project should be i said the MSP and they actually put mine and someone else's that said MSP as well... pretty cool i though.
