How to remove....

Hi all, need help and advice for removing the top part of the auto stick shift. I can see 2 or 3 screws that can be loosen but I dont know what will happen after that. Does anyone know? The reason for this is I have to slide a piece which is part of a wood dash trim and covers around the auto stick shift inside in order to complete the installation. It can be left alone but if removing the part is easy I'd like to do it. Thanks in advance for your advice.

lol last time i took 1 of those off my old car lol the fucken thing shot out a spring and shit and i couldnt find it so be very careful cause that spring is very important, lol i had to use a screw driver to put my car in gear after that
