View Full Version : 2002 Climate Control Removal
I've looked through the factory service manual and it is not very clear on the details to remove the climate controls.
I have the center trim panel clips disconnected but the climate control wires seem to be too short to reach behind and disconnect.
Can someone please fill me in on the best way to disconnect them? Are there any pieces that need removing first?
Thanks!

remove your glovebox, looking in towards the center of the car from there, you shoudl see a white, 3-4" round plastic gear of sorts with a post onit. that post is connected to the cable that controls the heater level. you'll have to pull the hoop off of the post. then there sill be a clip nearby where the cablehousing in clamped inplace. pullthat off as well.
There will also be a very similar setup if you look on the driver's side, up above the gas pedal on the console side. same goes there.

I think in the How To sections, you'll need to look up :
How to change the LED for the A/C indicator
and
How to Remove OEM CD/Radio
You should find all the info there.

you shoudl be able to pop the panel off without removing the stereo, but taking it out DOES indeed help.
Thanks to all who posted. It is greatly appreciated!
