sometimes when i get into my car and attempt to start it, it wont start....ill have to sit there for a few minutes and keep trying it....sometimes putting through all gears and back to park will help....it used to happen once in a blue moon when i first got it....but now that i got a new cd player installed it happens a lot more frequently...was wondering if u guys might have any ideas to what it may be...i plan on taking it in to mazda but i just moved to houston and left my stock airbox in san antonio, should get it next week to swap out the sri before i take it in.

Hmmm, seems like it might be a bad shifter bushing that doesn't quite align the shifter in the right gear. I'm not familiar with Mazda design, but most auto trannies only start in P or N; maybe the computer thinks the shifter is still in R or something. Ask a mechanic to confirm and potentially replace. G'luck.

Tune up? Check that the fuel rail is holding pressure over night?
Air filter clogged?

If it doesn't "Crank Over" try looking at the Neutral Atart switch..
