I went to ZZL Atlanta on Saturday...it was awesome. Well worth it, just to dog out the Miata. When you drive the RX-8...be sure to ask the instructor you ride with to give YOU a ride along...you will not be dissapointed!

IT WAS FRIGGIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I had greatest time ever! This year they actually put manual trans. cars into the time competition!!! 2006 miata rawks! OMG such a different feeling from driving fwd car daily. I actually was an hourly winner in a MATCHED TIME competition. Thanks to Sean sitting next to me and counting seconds on my watch, LOL! Sean with your help I made it to 19.010 which was the closest to 29.000 within that hour. Hah it was funny how we all were standing there in hopes that those 10 people wouldnt come closer to 29.000 than me. And yea those are pretty stewpid rules about the points.....I would like MY 2ND HAT NOW! (rofl)

God, I want a Miata. Please, please, please let me wake up to a '06 Miata tomorrow. That car was great! I had a blast chucking it around...wish I had time for more than one run though, I think I could have dropped my time a bit.

It was a good day and cool and all, but the fucking waiting in lines sucked!! Collectively I waited in line for at least 4 hours the whole day. The driving was great but the waiting just sucked the life out of me.

FedEx Field is NOT around Baltimore... it's off the DC Beltway... about 30 miles south

the lines did suck, but thats why we had a minimum of 4 guys once we got Dennis. More people you have, the more chances you have to make asses of yourselves and help the time go by faster. I know we kept on asking the announcer if we could take the miatas on the drag course or the top fuelers on the performance challenge course.

Sideways though the finishlines - that was pretty :cool: - fun to watch the spinouts and cone eaters. If I wasn't with friends - the day woulda sucked. But, the weather was gorgeous, the cars were gorgeous, and the friends were cool. It was even fun riding shotgun.
We tried the stopwatch thing - but closest we got was 30.2 - lame! (but it was still amusing to see some people just kick it and get sub 26 times.) Someone really threw the mazda5 around - it was fun to watch -
Only prob - made me want to autocross all day - wish the lines weren't so freakishly long - otherwise I probably would have just stayed at the performance challenge tent all day.

Should've gotten there at 8am, the guy was saying that in the first hour there were like 20 people and they just kept driving the miatas over and over again. I was there until close, so we jumped back on the manual line and got another run - some dudes were on the course drifting and spinning out every corner of the course, yay

Yup! Got it figured out though, it has his last name in the database, but the cards and everything there had mine (boom07)
I don't think we did too bad. He ran a 31.6 to my 31.9 (I bogged into second too!). We only got one run, never saw the course, and my first time in a RWD car was Justin's @ Dave & Busters!
man this is horse shit!!! How do they estimate the best time on zoomzoomlive.com? I know I got 31.04 on the Challenge course and they have me....best time as 32.263. WTF is that!?!!?!?!?!?? Thats horse shit! Im gonna complain and tell them to gimme that pearl white Miata as a remedy to this problem (poke)

First autocross type event - best time I got was 34.5 (loser! - my excuse is that I worked overnight the night before then went straight to the even after work) Brother got a 31.2 - says my new miata is wasted on me (silly) I don't abuse it enough!

Im guessing they were suppose to pick the best lap time out of your 1st two tries. Well 32.2 was my 3rd try and 1st try was 32.8 and 2nd try was 31.040. WTF i dont get it. anything after 1st two tries is not supposed to be registered. Atleast thats what they were saying the whole day.

My friend drove 3 times and they picked his last time, which was his lowest. When I went my third time the guy didn't scan the card so my best time of the day didn't register.
uh fuck. Thats just horse shit. Although they didnt scan my card 3rd time. How the fuck do they know I did 32.2 3rd time!??!!? Someone wasnt following the proper procedures

This event was not as well run as the rev it ups... of course they're not giving you a car at the end, so who cares.
Many times there were cars that caught up to the ones in front and they would get a screwed up time. At one point it was so off that 6 people in a row were getting 50s and 60s. They had to stop the whole thing and start over again.
oh they dont compete for a new car? hmm for some reason I thought they did. Oh well, Mazda is cheaping out, haha. Well we didnt have to pay this year to get in anyways. Yea I still say it was poorly organized. Those miatas and actually all of the cars there ran on same set of tires and brakes from morning to the evening, which is just horse shit because evening people will definetly not make the bracket time. Last year they were changing tires at least once each 2-3 hours. Brakes were adjusted accordingly also. They definetly have to work on this more.
