Porsche Cayman S vs Lotus Exige

i think this is a more fair comparison of the 2 cars even though their characters are drastically different. Both are mid engined and both are hyper coupes. The Exige is coming to the US early next year. One is rumored to be the best handling Porsche EVER.. and one is already a legend.

Cayman = $58K start
Exige = $51K start (estimate)

Cayman = 295hp
Exige = 190hp

Cayman = 3152lbs = 10.6 lb/hp
Exige = 1930lbs = 10.2 lb/hp
soo.. would you spend the extra 8K on the Cayman? or would you get the Exige and forego creature comforts?

As sweet as the Cayman is, I'd take a little less stiffness and the unlimited headroom of the new Boxster S for the same price (give a couple thousand) as the Exige.

Exige, it's a lotus. You can see porsche everywhere at your local country club, it's not sexy it's just classic. Exige is sexy.

I'm sure the Exige would be a hoot to drive, but it looks like it was designed by a child. :D

Actually, not surpisingly given it's mid-engine placement, all the car mags are saying the Caymen is the best handling Porsche ever even over the Carrera. (OK STFU about the GT ;) ) Of course, the Carrera was ever slightly faster around the Nurburgring, but with a small power advantage.

I've only driven a 993, a 996 Carrera S, and a Cayenne Turbo so that's my only experience with Porsche. 996 Carrera S....... spoooge. Not that the 993 was shabby.

didnt mean the gt meant the regular 911 but they refer to them now by chasis (sp?) code now and i think its the 997? or 977? idk anymore but id take the regular porsche 911
