I had to take my 3rd brake light off the other day, due to a broken mount and noticed that the back of the lense said Rousch Racing on it. Anyone else seen this? Does that mean I could order the brakelens from Rousch?

are you joking? most cars on the market today are complete whores :p, hell even a lot of older cars are that way, every company borrows parts from everyone else, ESPECIALLY the ones that have joint ownerships between eachother, like Ford to Mazda... but having rousch racing make the parts for it seems a little odd, but oh well...

internally mopar refers to the neon and the srt4 as the same platform, the PL chassis, whereas the PT Cruiser is known as the PT chassis. marketing aside, the neon and the srt4 are as different from eachother as a protege and a mazdaspeed protege are. the mopar electronic parts catalog puts all SRT4 and Neon parts in the same catalog. the engines between a PT Cruiser GT and the SRT4 are the same, but the transmission, intake manifold and ecu are much more condusive to high horsepower on the Neon.
The PT Cruiser is loosely based on the Neon, however most similarities die from the doors back. The rear end is built more like a light truck, and for good reason. It and the design of the cargo area allows Chrysler to legally classify the vehicle as a light truck and meet average federal emissions and fuel economy standards for thier trucks as it skews the curve for them. Nice, eh? Chevy finally got wise and built the HHR for partly the same reason.

if you look at the mazdaspeed miata a lot of its parts are made by ford. Had to change out some bushings, pads and rotors on my friends when ordering the parts I found this out lol
