If you had $40,000, and were to buy a new car, and choose only ONE car, what would you buy? No car over $40k please, $39k is fine and only cars found/sold in the united states.

Here's mine

I had a 69 SS 396.......and it got it's fair share of getting hooked up. Last thing I did before it got sold was an entire front end rebuild (shocks, bushing, ball joints, tie rods, brakes, springs) it was just awesome to drive.

I dunno, everybody was impressed when he broke in the 13's.... If I spent 40k on a car it had better be in the 9's.

My uncle is just completing a 70 Chevelle SS 454... Show car paint job (black w/ gold race stripes), auto w/ gear vendors under/over drive....454 crate 425hp.

Must have been a pathetic driver. Have you seen an Elise make a sharp turn? It's like racing in a 2/4-cycle kart vehicle, absolutely not body roll... just cuts through the corner like a knife. Elise doesn't look too comfortable for any other purpose except for racing though...I never test drove the Elise, but for general cruising on long twisty roads I'd probably prefer the Miata or S2K.

But realistically, I'm trying to think of what to get when I graduate from law school. I'm planning on spending 30-40k and it doesn't have to be very practical, since I have my P5. I'm thinking about an S2000, a Miata, or a 350Z. Whatever I get will get forced induction. And I don't want any less than 400rwhp.
