I don't think they are that hard to replace.....did you have a loud clank/clunk back there?????

it wasnt so much a loud clunk, but a continuous clunk clunk clunk, almost a creaking...according to my research, the strut mount on proteges has a design flaw and this problem is fairly common, i thought at first that it was a missaligned spring, but the dealer showed it to me, the strut mount went bad and there was play in the strut... i dont want to blow my brand new HP's so i guess i gotta get that fixed and tightened up

well good news, got the car back today, and it turned out that the original cost was actualy the total cost, not the parts cost...they showed me the old strut mount and showed me how the spring was basically slipping off of the old mount cuz the stock spring pattern didnt match up with the teins, but with the new mount, they can make a new mold in the rubber and should be good as new (and can soon almost afford exhaust again!)
