I was searching for a thread on installing a-pillar guages. I could not find one. Could someone direct me to one or explain how to safely remove the pillar and install the new one?

To remove the a-pillar all you have to do is pull on it. Do it little by little and it will come off, I believe it's held in place by three or four clips. Don't use excessive force, and don't worry if you hear a loud poop or two, those should be the metal clips comming out. To put it back, line up the hook/ tab on the bottom and guide the clips back into their holes. Hope this helps :)
Edit: I'm assuming you have a full a-pillar, and not a single gauge holder.

yep, just pull gently with increasing force. it will pop out.
if you have the autometer full gauge pillar, it actually fits better by using some double sided tape and sticking it directly on the stock pillar. i originally took the stock pillar off and the autometer didn't fit to my liking. it was too loose. i put the stock pillar back in and taped the autometer on it. now it fits solidly.

You don't even need tape really, you just have to put the little black screw into drilled holes on the stock piller.
To get the stock pillar out, just pull gently, and kind of pull up a little too.

I would pull it off. It's easier to screw on that way and that way you know when you drill far enough and don't have to worry about hitting any wires.
