is there a short shifter out there that would not rub against the exhaust?
My kartboy doesn't rub against my exhaust. And i have a huge 3" downpipe that goes right past the shifter :)

mine didn't rub against the exhaust, it rubbed against the heatshield. Needless to say, the heatshield is somewhere in a landfill.

Pliers + Heatshield = Problem fixed
Heck the TWM kits come with spacer. What ever problem there is.. is an easy fix. If you have problems fixing it... you don't need to be installing a short shifter in the first place..lol.

I love my TWM. along with the bushings, it's great. best in the market in my opinion, also the shortest throw also. Mine doesn't rub, not even the heatshield

So I'm lookin at gettin the B&M short shifter for my 1.8L ES. Is the only thing I need to fix is the heatsheild, cause I have th stock exhaust system.

I'd recommend the kartboy, for the money, get the shifter/bushing combo.

When you install it, just bend the heatshield down a tad. Its not even a lot.
Be sure to grease the bushing really well when you install it though, so you don't get any weird squeaks or anything.

I just installed a TWM shifter in my 2.0 ES. I LOVE it. Such short shifts and not as stiff as I thought it would be. Also, it comes with spacers so you don't have to bend your heatshield. $144 shipped for shifter and bushings is a good price, in my opinion.
