First I would like to say i'm new to the forum and have found many posts in here very helpful.

Now for the question.

When I gun my MSP I can hear the full spool however at about 3.5k to 4k on the tach I feel a sudden loss of power the turbo doesn't sound like it takes a dive just a sudden loss of power. I haven't got my boost gauge installed yet and was wondering if anyone else has expirienced this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Do a search about hesitation. This something we have all experienced and there is a lot of info on the forum about this topic.

go to the dealer and tell them you want the flash....it leans out the fuel curve and gets rid of the hesitation.

I would not say that it gets rid of the hestitation entirely. My MSP still hesitates a bit with a flashed stock ecu. If you really want to get rid of it, engine management is your best bet. With the unichip installed, I do not get any noticeable hesitation, even with stock boost. Other things such as free-flowing exhaust and an upgraded intercooler will also help a lot.

i second that... dont flash if your gonna mod later in its life.. its mess's with timing and such... whats happeing is your enginge is getting to much fuel.... so.. try barely touching or easing off the pedal when you mash it... (un flashed) and youll notice it start to pull alot harder... ecen wiht flash this effect can be noticed....

basicaly its running realy rich so you dont blow it up

he never said he wanted to upgrade, but flash is the first thing that should be done. It doesn't lean it out that much anyway. I ran 10 psi for 6 months before i got ems on a flashed ecu.

it changes timing... thats why i said if you plan to upgrade... i know he never mentioned.. but i think ahead...

Thanks for all your input guys. I really appreciate it. I think what im going to do is get lighter shoes or quit putting so much toe into it to see how that goes. If it still persists i might just reset the ECU.

As far as the mods go. Yes I will be modding the car. but for now it is all going to be presentation so i dont mess with the warranty. (100k mile) so it will be about 2.5 years before i do performance mods. but my plans are to body kit it. Light it up. lighter rims and stickier tires. for the short term. When I do get to the performance i wanna go at it from the inside out.

Since i'm mechanically retarded right now i will be practicing on my friends ride (evil)

Same thing with mine, 2 months later we got the car back after almost putting in the lemon law...they said it was something with the fuel pump that cause problems with the rest of the engine. Good luck though, just tell them to fix it or they can have the car back, always works.
