When I leased my car, it came with a Sirius receiver... but I just don't like where it is. They mounted it with velcor on the left seat-back inside the truck, which sort of gets in the way with luggage. I was thinking of mounting it under the passenger seat, but wanted to know...
If you have a Sirius receiver, where is it mounted?
Thanks!

makes sense, seems as if the passenger seat is a good place to put it. But, if you put the receiver under the seat... where did you put the antenna?
Thanks!

Mine's under the driver seat w/ gravity holding it in place (it was a hot day when I put it in and I'm lazy sometimes). The antenna wire was plenty long enough to reach and it's a convenient place to have my AUX cable.
I tried putting the antenna on the back deck but my metal tint kept making it drop out so much it was unlistenable. I finally bit the bullet and put it on the roof. I ran the wire around the side of the rear glass and through the taillight hole (the one w/ the grommet). I may eventually paint it to match the body but it's not very high up on my list.
Dr.Sound: If I had to guess, those guys are probably using FM transmitters. The tuner-to-head cable that mine came with didn't reach that far.

anyone have the antennae mounted to their dashboard...the child seat anchor in the middle or the rear deck is kind of a bad spot cuz it keeps sliding off for me...

How do you go about getting sirius service for the factory HU.

I took the receiver out of my car this morning, and installed a simple AUX adapter for my iPod, so I know how it all ran. It sounds like the most popular place to put it is in the rear trunk (velcored to the carpet, or seat back), and to put the anteanna underneath the plastic panel where the 3rd brake light would be. This install appears to be the quickest/simpliest for installers, as all it requires is to remove the radio tray, pop the radio out to install the plug, run the cable down the middle, remove two screws in the back of the center console (to run the cable under the carpet), pull up the rear seat bottom (no bolts/snaps), and their done. For the anteanna, you have to remove 4 snips/clips (no tools required), and you can install the anteanna by just sliding it in.
If I were to install the sat receiver back in, I'd probably install it under the passenger seat, with the anteanna back under the 3rd brake light cover. But I'll be enjoying my iPod for a while, so I won't worry about that for a while. :)
As per service, there should be a unique identifier on the outside of the receiver, I'd presume you'd give that to the ordering page, when it came time to subscribe. But as I didn't subscribe, I can't confirm that.

How do you go about getting sirius service for the factory HU.First you have to find the serial number by scrolling through the menu. Write it down along with your vin number. Call sirius and tell them you want to subscribe. They'll ask you for the above numbers, as well as your credit card number. Thirty seconds later, you're hooked up!

yep, we were in a hurry to leave for a car show and decided to install it last minute ... whole thing took like 3mins. connected the cable to my HU, ran it all the way to the back and i stuck the antenna on my trunk. i thought maybe the wing was gona cause problems but it only drops when i go under certain overpasses
