It changes the settings on the Mass Air Flow Sensor and Fuel Pressure sensors. It has 15 different settings for max performance to best economy.

Unless it's OBD-II CAN bus compliant, it won't work. I have found very few universal products that work with Ford (and Mazda) computers.

ok i have a customer that works for ford/mazda he told me that the platform for the mazda 3 is based on the one for last years mustang???....so i wasn't to sure about that but IF thats true wouldn't the mustang parts for elec work on ours???im still confused about what the guy told me...btw he is an engineer for ford.

Sounds like that dude is smoking crack.

If he's talking about vehicle platform, there's no way in hell.
If he's talking about computer platform, I still seriously doubt it. The Mazda3 has been out for a few years already (just not here). Why would they change electronics?
Besides that, the Mustang comes with either a V6 or a V8. There's no 4 cyl option. Not to mention the whole FWD vs. RWD thing.

It just doesn't make sense. There might be a shared component or two but hardly an entire system, much less a platform.

I personally know a lot of Ford engineers and most of them are complete morons. Dumbest smart guys you'll ever meet. (crazy)

Good luck - I do not think it will work but you might be the first to try. If its anything like the proteges and other mazda's - it will take more than the SAFC to control AFRs.

i thought the mazda3 ecu is from mitsubishi... i read it on draxas thread about their X-calibrator, implying that it was different from other mazdas.

No they don't. They have 33% ownership.

It wouldn't matter if they had 51% ownership I would still say ford sucks. I knew that ford had some type of ownership over mazda.

All right, that's enough of that.

Either take it back on topic or quit posting.
