Ok, so those of you that have been reading the florida section already know my sad story about the fact that no one makes an extension for the 3.5 msp lip. For those of you that don't, I decided to make my own fiberglass extension. Well, working 2 hours here, three hours there, it took a little over a month to complete. It took another month to have it painted (thread "what paint is my car?") But finally, after long delay, it is finally on the car.
What does everyone think???????
P.S. That's me!!!!! trying... to .... get... those.... stupid...f$#%@@ foglights to work!!

we attempted a "photoshoot", but I think it was too dark out. anyways, here they are... the third is my absolute favorite picture I have of my car. Good job to Kr33per for helping me put the lip on and take these pics.

Yeah, there's three things I noticed (don't know if you can tell from the pics), 1) the silver is a little lighter on the extended lip (I think it has something to do with the white base, instead of the stock lip's black base) 2) the lines are too well defined. Luckily it has to go back to paint, so I'm tossing around the idea of just molding both together to get rid of that line. The third thing is when I made it, I didn't account for space for the double sided tape. That causes a gap, maybe 1mm wide which helps the line stick out more. 2 and 3 would both be taken care of, if I go back and mold the two pieces together.

It looks like a DG Motorsports lip that was smashed into a curb...repeatedly.

DG sells the lip for the 3.5 msp??? I wish I would've known, could have saved me a lot of future bashing!!!!!

I think that it still looks a bit rough. However, with some more work it will look killer.
The third pic in this series is f__kin' sick brother. It is an amazing, amazing picture. It looks like it came straight out of a magazine. Keep up the good work.

ya the dg lip is made for the 03 and 03.5...with the 03.5 just unscrew like 2 screws and the front lip comes off and then the dg fits right on there like a glove.... either have it molded or use the doubled sided tape it comes with

I'm sorry, I was trying to be funny.... I won't do it again.
I don't like the fact that I would have to take of the 3.5 lip in order to put the DG one on. That's the whole reason why I decided to take on this project. That and I really don't like the huge P5/2003 msp fog lights, IMO they're way to big and unproportional to our front ends.

Good Try not my cup of tea, but something that will sprak some intrest hopefully I would love to see some diffrent styles we just need better body kits for these cars something clean and smooth not to "ricer looking" that gives the car more agressive style

As far as the "form" is concerned, I couldn't be happier, the aptly named "leno chin" turned out exactly as I had envisioned it. Looking straight on, I feel that it follows very closely to the form of the lower mid grill. The fitment, well, that's a different story. Thank you to all, I'm actually glad that some did see it's potential, and that others were honest that they didn't like the style of it at all. Atleast everyone doesn't blow smoke up each others A@#$@ here. Anyways, keep the comments coming (I'd like to think that I can take the criticism, other than that ricer comment, ouch man, easy :)). As for me, heading up to Atlanta in a few hours I'll catch yawl Sun. or Mon.

it looks great now just make some side skirts and one for the rear
im it looks like a work in progress. i would redo the lines and make it one huge smooth lip so u cant tell where u added the new lip on. looks kind of wierd, but i can see how it can look so much better at the same time.
props to u man!

i dont think it looks bad, but i do think there is *something* that would make it look better. i can't quite put my finger on it. im sure it'll turn out fine in the end though, not bad so far. nice work.

I think its cool you can take the criticism.
I will say that I don't like it too much but I think you will make it better.
Props for the effort and making something original.

just the fact that you did it by yourself at home makes it awesome.
keep working on it and it may come out really nice :)
although as long as you're happy with it, it wont matter what we think.

from my own experience this is VERY difficult. chopstickhero will vouch that i've been trying to find the dodge spirit turbo lip EVERYWHERE countless trips to the junk yard and even the dealership, to no avail.

sorry for the double post, but i think i know what you're talking about, i think it would look super sick WITHOUT the 03.5 MSP lip. but still with the custom one on the MP-3/03 msp/ p5 style bumper (the one under the 03.5 lip)

only two or three tears... lol.
It actually came down to what I wanted. I wanted the DG lip. I wanted to keep the foglights I had in the 3.5 lip. DG, nor anyone else made something to suit both wants, so I did it myself. As for the time, well, it would've been alot quicker if I had an electric sander. The cuts from my fingers are finally starting to fade! Not to mention the cost of making it myself was substantially cheaper (not including my priceless time, lol).
I made it as a "bolt on" so I could take it off whenever I wanted to, but it is evident that I'm going to have to mold them together to get rid of that disgusting gap (pics are in a previous post, don't know which one). I will most definately keep yawl (love that word) posted.

i'm sure it'll look even better once it's molded, for those that say it's fugly, u should c it in person, it does look weird on the pics, but in person it looks freakin awsome
