View Full Version : Ebay Brembo Rotors
Has anyone bought the "brembo" cross drilled/slotted rotors off ebay? I know they are blanks that this guy is drilling and/or slotting. Just wondering if anyone knew if there were any problems with them. I work in a machine shop and was thinking as long as the guy check for runout of the rotor when done, they should be ok. Right? I've thought about just taking mine off and taking them to work and cnc milling the slots and blind drilling the holes(ie, the cross drilled holes don't go thru).

you could, but the fronts are vented, i think thats a different beast then just a straight rotor... i could be mistaken though....

I'm not a machinst but I suspect you'd have to be very careful to make sure that every slot and hole was perfectly in lined and symetrical. When I got my Powerslot's I was quite surprised by how heavy they are. I would think that much rotating mass would be thrown out of balance if material wasn't removed "evenly", if you know what I mean.
And who knows if the person selling on eBay is doing anything carefully, or some mope that just got a bunch of cheap blanks and just eyeballs it when he drills, going through vanes and everything, then sells them for some quick cash. I personally wouldn't by drilled rotors except from a company I could hunt down and take to court. An eBay intake just sits there, but brakes are a critical subsystem.
yea i would go w/ someone reputable myself
