Lookin to buy a CAI around the 200 dollar mark and Injen is 230 and i dont really want to spend that. so what are some that you guys have or recommend around that mark? I checked out the AEM site but the drop down box for the year was only 2003.

Well i'm going to say this now, all intakes are the same. So it really doesn't matter which one you buy, it just depends on the filter.

obx is the standard for headers for most

Awr makes a slightly better header for 2x the cost.

dead wrong.

Weather thats true or not, without supporting evidence it does no good.

I reccomend getting the x3 racing intake off of ebay ($50), throwing the filter in the garbage, and getting a k+n rr-3003 filter ($56). The x3 is a replica of the injen and I defy anyone to prove that it performs any differently with a good filter.

yeah i saw that Thread on here with the X3Racing intake. so i gave it a shot on ebay and nothing came up for me.

K&N makes a typhoon system for our cars which can be converted from a CAI to SRI easily. i personally consider it the finest crafted intake for this car and recommend it over all other systems.

the part numbers and prices they have listed are for the AEM short ram intake. AEM does not make a cold air intake for this car.

I think i'd be more interested in the Injen for the reason its cheaper. but i'm still going to check out my local performance shop, but if its not good i'll fall back to you

I had better luck with the CAI, but itll rattle like a bastard. Ebay CAi's are all the same as the name brand crap.

Ebay (x3) is cold air.

No rattles here.

ok i'll give it a shot. what sucks is that i may have to postpone this intake cuz i got a ticket last night and my parents arent really keen on the idea of me doing this stuff to my car. and a ticket is just another way for them to enforce NO.

the one on Protege Garage is like 20 bucks cheaper than on ebay or on any other site. And the shop i'm going to order it through might be able to get me some money off.
