Crap h/u

My head unit also took a crap amd I am wondering if there is a way to stop it from flipping, to try and save the ribbon. That is after I get it replaced?

Alpine CD-9855... Just got it and I love it. Not that cheap, but it's a beautiful thing. Decided to upgrade after it crapped out on me twice.

I couldn't find any way to keep the faceplate from flipping, and yep, it crapped out.

The only way I know to stop it from flipping is to remove it permanently from your vehicle. Sorry...the damn thing died on me Christmas day with my ex's CD in it...a CD she got in Hong Kong that was impossible to find here.

I promptly replaced it with an Alpine deck...but be forewarned. The new series of upper end alpines suck turd-biscuits compared to last year's models. The "glidetouch" feature is a pain in the ass and doesn't make for an increase in ease of use. And to get 4v pre-outs you're looking at 450$ to get the CDA-9855...no model down from that has 'em.

That glide touch feature is a pain in the ass! And the remote would be better if it had some numbers on it, but all in all, I love the sound and other features it has and I got lucky and paid $380 for mine.

Well i got the new head unit and will be using that untill I bust this one. But I have had good luck with Pioneer So I will look into one of those.

yes there is a way to disable the flip. all you have to do is unplug the motor cable in the HU. Fixing the HU is fuckin cake. You get the part and pay for shipping both ways, ill be more than happy to do it for ya.

Edit: king i see you got a new radio...any chance of selling the old one?

Mine just took ashit also the other day, i just got back from the dealer and their ordering a refurbished one. I still got a cd in mine now. is there any way of getting it out before they send the deck out??

I still got a cd in mine now. is there any way of getting it out before they send the deck out?? When they replaced my deck, the CD that I left in the old one was playing in the new one. SO just tell the dealer that you left a CD in there and they should be able to get it out.
