Any (help) much appreciated...

~Well it looks like my brake pads are low. When I brake kinda hard sometimes my ABS light comes on. That's what that basically means, correct¿(braindead Anyway, if I'm going to replace my pads, might as well install some rotors also.

~Any one know of decent rotors and pads for a good price¿ No to big on the cash. I know the ceramic pads don't give much brake dust, but how's the performance¿ Looking for well performing pads with not much brake dust...

~The rotors I am looking for slotted only. Don't believe I need X-drilled. The zinc coat comes off when you brake right? so why get those...¿ The colored rotors coloring comes off as well also... So again why get those to...¿ So what would the best rotor be? Not much rust, and I guess regular metal color would do fine. (not gold or black painted) Unless there is a gold metal so when you brake it doesn't come off. I think the gold would look nice.

Thanks in advance(thumb)

1). Search. Actually don't search - there's a bunch of brake pad/rotor threads right on the first page here. So don't search - scroll.

2). No when your ABS light comes on it does not mean your pads are low. The way to tell if your pads are low is to either look at them or wait until you hear a very high pitch squeel coming from your wheels. The stock pads have a metal "tooth" on them that will scrape on the rotor and make a screetch sound once the pads get too low.

3). The coating is for anti-rust. If you don't get it you can count on your slots and the edges of the rotor to rust. But yeah the coating does nothing for the surface of the rotor itself. Also, the coloring is mainly for the "hub" and edges of the rotor (which the pads never touch).

Oh wait! not the ABS... sorry. The same light that comes on when you pull up the e-brake... Why would that light be coming on then¿(scratch)

check your brake fluid, as the pads wear it requires greater amounts of fluid to be pulled out of the reservoir to push the pistons out, thus making it low on fluid and making the light come on. its not telling you that your pads are worn out, but it does let you know they are wearing. It wont be too terribly long and you will need new ones.
