My 1.8L ES makes a squeaking noise when its at a low rpm, around 1900-2400. Anyone ever have this problem or know what it is, and how to fix it?

Squeaking or squealing?

Please be as descriptive as possible - engine rpms cold/hot conditions when it occurs. When you hit a bump? In neutral?

It happens hot or cold in any gear around 1900-2400 rpm's, and it is more of a squealing sound. it doesn't do it on bumps, but if i go up a hill and the rpm's drop to around 1900-2400 its starts makin the sound. It almost sounds like a pully needs to be greased or somethin. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem before.

Sounds like a loose or worn belt to me.

DEFINATELY A LOOSE BELT, i had the exact same problem on my 2.0l, i replaced the two belts off the crank pulley with gator belts from parts source, and tensioned. Whamo no squealing
