Really nice car and tastefully decorated. Should be in the race for best Protege5!

Are the leather seats inside from Katzkins? Where did you get the Side Windows Visors?

Things I really like:
Wheels
Seats
Front end (white markers, lip and grill)

leather is from Katzkins, had the arm rest and rear deck done with extra leather strips. side window visors were form local auto shop - put out by Ventvisor (set of 4)

Might look better if you also painted the silver panels around the shifter/cup holder and the stereo & A/C panel

Just my opinion :)

Nicely done so far! (thumb)

Lovin it..... except the altezzas. Everything is nice and clean on the whole car up until there, and it jsut shatters the lines and the whole look of the car. If the lenses were blacked out, or even if the inside were blakc or CF look to keep the yellow/black look going, I'd have no problem with it, but the tails really just kill it for me.

your a mind reader, thats actually one of the things i wanted to paint, but i was thinking of goin like a grayish black, much like the interior, since the shift know and ebrake handle are yellow...didint want to overdo the yellow

Yeah my interior is all black and I love the way it looks. I messed up the paintjob, so it doesn't look great, but the overall feel is much better IMHO.

i would have gone with cf or black ones, but i wanted the chrome to match the headlight/foglight/sidemarker housings as well as the grille and polished lip on the wheels. but i see your point as well and thanx for the comments from both angles

Great minds think alike? LOL. :D

Just that the yellow and that silver does not match that well. Besides, you have made the panel around the driver side air vent yellow (probably the passenger side as well), but the panel around the air vent in the center is silver... looks kinda "half-done" or that you ran out of paint :)

And actually, that silver is pretty ugly to begin with. I would have painted mine all black if I weren't that lazy... hahaha

Yeah, too much yellow is bad as well. Tough call.

I like the look the altezzas bring to the car, but I with everyone else when I say it would look better if they were the black ones. Since the wheels are black and your windows are so dark it would flow with the exterior a lot better.

I also like the grilles you have on there. They flow very well with the car.

The front lip almost looks a different color in that one picture and it doesnt look as factory as I thought they should the way it hangs around the fog holes. That is the one thing that made me not go for that lip when I had my Protege.

The interior leather on the other hand looks great. Adds character but definately not overdone like some of these cars you see. I also agree that painting the silver pieces would be a great idea....but definately not yellow. A black or grey like you said would be perfect because it would compliment the interior but not over do the yellow.

Looks great keep it up!

that is one beautiful interior...i for one kinda like the silver interior peices. I think it makes things look a bit more upscale, even if they are just silver painted peices of plastic. anyway, love the car, but not a big fan of the altezzas like everyone else. they really do stick out. and totally love the rims. keep up the good work!

I love the interior! Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it?

Car looks good overall, but I'm with most others about the Altezzas. I had some on my car for a while. At the time, I thought they looked so great, but looking back, I can see how they, as someone put it, totally disrupt the flow of the car.

Do you have a drop? It would look even sexier if it were a little lower.

interior - had i paid it in full instead of swapping some rims and tires along with cash for the kit and install would have run close to $1200, thats including some extras, such as the arm rest in leather, the rear deck in leather, along with Protege 5 on all 4 seats and also the yellow middle section extends all the way to the bottom of the seat, normally there would have been a black section of leather at the front of the seat (hope that makes sense, otherwise i can take a pic), but without the extras my guess is the kit plus install would have cost about $1K

i would drop the car, but im already scraping my front lip as is. the area where i work is filled will all types of anti lowering dips and bumps, id only be asking for a headache...its a shame, i would love to lower it too, i hate excessive wheel gaps

ok i wanna get everyones opinion, now i love the look of the altezzas - obviously since i have them, but i agree as well about the eyesore of chrome. now which would look better - gunmetal, carbon fiber, or possibly opening them up and spraying them yellow to match the car?? keep in mind my future mods include some form of CF hood, most likely gemini reverse cowl. i only mention yellow since it would kill the chrome and would IMO blend the lights more into the car, since along that contour on the car there are no other colors except yellow. i also have an HID kit installed along with angel eyes which are waiting to be installed. so i am contemplating what to do with my headlights. i would understand painting them black and doing black altezzas...but i am unsure as to how a black headlight housing would affect the reflection of the HID's/angel eyes. oh well just figured id get some opinions, thanx in advance.

Don't spray the insides yellow. I had the chrome altezzas and tried painting the inside of mine red...it just doesn't look good. I would post pics, but I've trashed them....

jdm tails are always a good choice! I like the idea of black or carbon tails as well, but they also disrupt the flow of the car....decisions decisions....

damn decisions, hahaha, ah but thats what makes owning and working on a car fun. i would go with JDMs but i just cant get into red lenses, i like the clear lens. most likely ill purchase a set of black ones, and then ill screw around with my chrome ones, ill try painting them yellow just for shits and giggles. who knows, ill wait for my next paycheck before making a decision, as well as some more feedback. thanx again to everyone for your feedback, greatly appreciate it. I'd say just keep it the way it is. It's your car and you should personalize it the way YOU want it to be. Altezza's or not, that's just personal taste. I can see that you wanted to keep the chrome theme and it does work fine since you have rims with polished lips and clear sidemarkers.

Save money for performance mods.

Or GAS. :)
