What does Sirius Ready Mean?

I am almost 100% sure that my 2003 Mazda 6's radio is sirus ready. What exactly does that mean i would have to purchase to use sat radio? I know that i would need to purchase service and the antena, but is their a special head unit/reciever for cars that are sat ready?

you need a device that can get the sirius signals and pass them to the HU
