How much you paying, or should I say getting raped for, for gas in your area? Where I am from we are now paying $1.12 CDN for just regular (89) octane gas. Not too sure what the conversion is to gallons, but all I know is that it is brutal.
They also said that gas will be going up here again before the weekend to $1.20-1.30 per litre. It is already up on the east coast of Canada. They are trying to blame it on the flooding in New Orleans, but we only import 8% of our oil from the states. The other 92% is refined in Canada....so I call BS on this price increase.
Pretty sad that I remember pumping gas back in high school in 1996 and gas was at 42.9 cents per litre.

i saw on the news this morning some atlanta stations were charging well over $5.50 per gallon but i guess that was just gouging and not indicative of where all prices will be in the immediate future.
they also said the 2 pipelines that were shut down by the hurricane were gonig to be turned back on today so maybe that will help keep 87 octane under 3 bucks? would be nice...

In Puerto Rico prices are .63 cents per liter for regular 87 and like .71 cents premium. I'm sure it will go up cuz it was the cheapest in my area.

For the smart asses on here, ya I am not the first one to notice that gas was expensive......thanks for pointing that out 'tips'. Just trying to see what certain prices were across North America. Don't have to be a F'n dick about it.

Sorry, just wanted to know what 3rd gen Protege owners were paying cause we are paying like $5 US a gallon up here. I didn't know there was that many threads already going.....guess I should have searched first. Mods, you can lock this thread or erase it if you want.

I wasnt trying to be an ass or anything but there are like 10 going on. Plus theres nothing we can do about gas prices except pay them. Just think, in 10, 20, 30 years, what we'll be paying for gas & you'll feel better about buying it today...

I dont want to pay 3.50 a gallon for gas. So that means my msp will be sitting in my garage for quite some time, and i really dont care. There is no reason that gas prices should jump $.58 in one week.

if oil production has stopped in a highly productive area it will....

This is only HALF of the problem that gas went up.....
As President Bush, ordered a release of the crude oil at the Alaska reservuars, this crude will be distributed to gas companies at NO cost, BUT these gas companies WILL HAVE TO pay back to government for this "FREE" crude oil when oil refining on east coast is gonna stabilize again. THIS MEANS that gas prices WILL go even higher as, where do you think gas companies will get the money to pay for "free" crude oil.........
Senate or whoever else, is taking a stand and will be starting an investigation very shortly regarding this total gas price BS. So lets hope these smart asses WILL make gas prices go down.
As far as hybrid cars go, yea as some of you notticed in past few months of gas price spikes, car companies started coming out with various types of hybrid cars....i.e. Ford just came out with Ford Escape Hybrid, then Toyota is shortly coming out with a Tacoma hybrid option, all known honda hybrids already took a good stand in the market, Toyota Prius hybrid estimates at 60/51/55 city/highway/combined, accordingly and Im sure rest of hybrids are in those numbers also.
I think that I will definetly own a hybrid car as a 2nd car....most likely an SUV for family purposes, but as far as the cost of the hybrids, its been said that they are 1/3 more expensive than their regular gasoline powered versions. Toyota Echo for example was quoted 2 yearsago at around 23-24k dollars.....at least thats what I was quoted at
and for the hell of it, gas price in my area ranges from 2.99 to 3.89 for REGULAR. Fucking A!
